I agree.
Why is Wiggo saying these things? I wonder why he does it. It's clear that Froome was the better climber, and this year TT will be less important than climbing (I hope). But then again, maybe that's the reason, his ego is a bit hurt, maybe.
We already knew that he's an arrogant prick.
I'm not surprised at all.

A bit of both, I reckon.
On one hand he's very arrogant. On the other hand, his ego is hurt because he's fully aware the situation with Tour contenders (every one of the top 12 or so contenders being either injured or not present except for his team) has never happened before and likely will never happen again, so he had the Tour handed to him on a platter.
He wants to win a more meaningful victory. Let's face it, outside of the UK this is one of those Tours that will be soon forgotten and barely remembered.
Some races are like that. Who ever talks about the 2002 or 1981 Tours, or the 1992 or 1983 Giros for example?

He could just be speaking his mind. I know if I won the tour, I'd want to try and properly defend it, although he is contradicting what he has already said, which is the problem.

Has anyone reminded Wiggins that there are mountains this year?

I think Wiggins' sideburns have started growing into his brain... There is absolutely no way for Wiggins to keep up with Contador, Schleck, etc. when they are in shape and he knows it.
I'm not sure Froome could either, but I would hate to see Froome have yet another GT ruined because of Wiggins.
(Yeah, I said it! Now bring on the Brit-bashing)

However annoying this might be for Froome, at least he won't be a domestique, probably. If Wiggins defends his title, they'll probably both be leaders, so Froome will soon leave Wiggins eating his dust. |

It has been confirmed that Yorkshire and Great Britain will host the Grand Depart of the 2014 Tour de France!
I'm going! Can't wait for this, London 2007 was so special, and I'll know it'll be even better in 2014. Eeeek,
+ A stage will take place in London.

The first stage (whatever it will be) will begin in Leeds.
EDIT: Full details revealed at a joint press conference in both Leeds and Paris on January 17th 2013.

I live about 10 miles away from Leeds. Can't wait for this, hopefully they go out towards Otley and Ilkley and all my favourite hills |

I predict that in 5 years time the Tour will visit every country except France.

I'd say that was probably more likely with the Giro

I think you forgot Germany, when did the Tour made something like this when cycling boomed thanks to Telekom? Just a stage through Germany thats it.
So I wonder how much Sky is there involved, possibly with money.
Also the last stage here was 2005, 2006 was the last stage I think that went through some parts of Germany (when they were in Luxembourg).

Lots of intelligent stuff from Horner in this interview: https://www.cyclingnews.com/features/e...ro-cycling
"Did he test positive?" he replies when asked about Armstrong's case with USADA.
"Maybe USADA have found the guys who have cheated but.... for me, you won the race (if) you passed the test. Lance won seven Tours de France and that's what I saw and the moments I enjoyed and that the way it's going to stay."

I love how cyclingnews words it: "Horner's name was not mentioned in USADA's 1000-page report"
The names were redacted out of the document, so while it's blatantly obvious that Rider N.15 can only be Chris Horner, cyclingnews can be free of a lawsuit since it's technically true that his name wasn't there.
Cyclingnews articles have become quite smart since Daniel Benson took charge. I like that
