It could work, look at the way it's implemented in FIFA. Shure, they are two completely different things, but I think there is a market for it. If implemented correctly, though. |

Sure, but most people don't complete an entire season in career mode, where there are much more races than for only one rider.
I do think 'Be a Pro' mode is implementable (if the word exists), like FIFA/PES, but not right now. There are more things to care of, such as the AI and a better 'off race' (management part)

Thinking about the Be-a-Pro mode, I can image much whining in this forum:
- Why haven't my team applied for the wild card of the race I wanted to participate?
- Why haven't I been selected for the TdF?
- Why is nobody protecting me in the race?
- I only have to carry bottles in all races, why?
- My team mates hate me, where can I change that in the editor?
- Why is my team hiring a better [your own rider type] type of rider. Now I cannot be captain in the races. |

I don't see any problems in people whining about that, Lachi, but either way, there's no chance that Be a Pro is added to PCM anytime soon. Ask all you want - it's not coming. |

Bummer, the only thing missing today. Tour de France 2002 on Ps2 was a lot of fun, even if it was an arcade game. And also Track on Road for PCM09 was nice to play. 
But, before a "Be a Pro" mode, they have to improve the management section anyway. |

I think that if there is going to be a "Be a pro" in the future, you should control your rider like you control riders in normal games. Only that you just control your pro. And I don't think that it will become boring very fast because you will have to do less races then in career mode! |

There's a little feature that i think would make the game a little better.
Make some cobblestones section harder than others for example make Arenberg or Carrefour de L'arbre harder than others cobblestones section. Because now , the hardest cobblestones section is just the longest.  |

But everbody remember that if cyanide makes 2011 so improved that everyone hoping it will be hard to make it so much better later.
They will do like Fifa does, a little bit better to the new ones.

I also play FM 2011 and its very nice, pcm would do a great step to copy a bit of this game!
and about the be a pro mode, i think it would be nice but after a while you will get be bored

I don't know if it was mentioned before, but for me that is one thing that should be in game. Recovery.
Recovery counts for 3 week stages and slightly for one week as well. But when it comes to one day Classics, it doesn't at all. I give you example, in my Sky story I won Omloop Het Nieuwsblad with Flecha, next day his green bar was full and he won Kuurne as well, which is impossible. The recovery stat should count for one day races as well, if they are close to each other in days.

Yeah, there should be a 'overall recovery', just like the fatigue thing, which would go down as he race several races on few days and of course go up as he rests without racing. And as recovery in 3D, should be related to facts like if he goes on a long breakaway or stays in the pack for the whole day.

I think that the most important think is the stats and the way they are applied in-stage. Now you can define if mountain or hills stats count more for a current stage. I think that it should be something like that:
0-3km climb - hills stats count;
3-7km - (hills+mountain)/2
7^ - mountain
This combined with percentage of the slope f.e.
0-5;5-10;10^
and when passing from one section to another, the riders' ability to change, so you could plan better your attacks |

I wasn't gonna say anything at the start of the week, because i thought maybe over the week there will be some infos. But now the week is over and if they don't work on easter, there won't be any infos before next week.
As always: I don't have any insight, i just see the outcome. But it is only 8 weeks until the release and we have only one information about the upcoming game. (the news from january)
I do think they are missing many marketing options. Big classics are right now and everyone who loves this sport is on fire for cycling.
Though, i gotta admit, it's even unusual for them to bring such less informations. Maybe somethings not right. Let's hope that that's not the case.

I do not understand most of your writing. Cyanide never said that they cannot do such a mode. Also they never said that they want to make it or try to make it. They only said that there will not be a Be-A-Pro mode.
BTW: I didn't want to take away your hopes, I just think your chances are very small. |
