After 5 stages I'm sitting 13th overall and lead the KoM competition.

So far the 2017 Amgen Tour of California was been kind to me,
but the fans on the other hand have been out to piss me off at all costs.

After the stage up Mt. Baldy yesterday I got to go back to my apt. in LA and
spend the afternoon with the kids and Chloe, plus sleep in my own bed.
But I was rudely awaken by some idiot cycling fan egging our apartment.

I'm really starting to hate California. So many stuck up and ignorant people.
Why can't they leave me alone? Doesn't anyone believe in 2nd chances anymore?

The rest stage before the long hilly ITT on stage 7 and the final MTF on stage 8.
Except that assumption is thrown out as crosswinds become a factor!

Phinney gets the win but uses up valuable energy he might need tomorrow.

Michał Kwiatkowski is the only GC guy to gain time because of the winds.
Craddock and I should have got a gap between the leaders and peloton but everyone knows by now that I'm not the most liked guy so that didn't happen.

Brown - Craddock - Me. Who's the fastest Fox today?
Nathan Brown started early in the day and set a time of 1h28'09".

Craddock took tips from Brown and blitzed the course early.
He catches all the way up to me and I started three riders ahead of him!
I decided to take the opposite approach and save energy for the final climb.

My goal: Win the King of the Mountains, Top 10 Overall! Let's do it! Hopefully...

In my mind I went back and forth: Is it worth? After hours of contemplating
before the race I came to my conclusion. What do I have to lose?

Therefore I attack right on the gun risking everything. But, it's my only safe
way to win the KoM competition and have a good chance to move up in GC.

Yes, because all the favorites going full gas the whole climb have much less chance of catching the breakaway than their week-long tired domestiques setting a much easier pace until there's 6~7 kms left Pfft Unless the gap is very big, and even if Travis is at the top of the cat 3 the peloton still has some flat kms and all. Then they might just burn themselves with the attack, not organize good a chase and let Travis go with the stage. I'll hope for the later, but with Travis luck... Pfft

This is where we left off. The favourites ripping each other apart on the cat. 3.
I'm up the road a few kilometers not only trying to win the stage
but move up into the top 10 of GC on the final stage.

2kms into the final climb, I can look back and see the favourites. Not good.
Daniel Martin is on the move looking to claim yellow back from Kwiatkowski.

10kms to go. Daniel Martin, Matthias Frank, and Daniel Navarro have
separated from the original leader's group. I'm still leading by about 50 seconds.

I last until 5kms to go. Then the lead trio goes right on by me.
So, no stage win. But a top 10 overall could still happen if I keep pushing.

Then a 2nd trio goes by with 3.8kms to go. De Gendt, Boswell, and Kwiatkowski.

As I'm struggling to hang on so Craddock's group doesn't pass me,
Daniel Martin wins the stage and starts the clock against Kwiatkowski.
He needs a gap of 1'20" to win the tour on the final climb!

Meanwhile, I just stay in front of Craddock's to finish 7th. But more importantly,
the finish is good enough to move me from 13th to 10th in GC!

I accomplished everything I set out to do this year at Amgen.
Thus making me one proud cyclist. Feels good to accomplish your goals.

Now I get a few weeks off to relax with the family for a while
before racing in Dairyland to prepare for the National Championships.

My training is in your hands for the rest of my career.
After each race I can receive both EXP and Form Points.
EXP is a permanent stat gains while Form is temporary (the next race update).
A maximum of 3 EXP and 5 Form can be rewarded after each stage.

After any stage I receive EXP or Form points
you guys get to decided where I put those stat gains to use.

All you have to do is comment on which category you want
1 of the stat gains to go (Ex. Mountain, Sprint, Flat, etc.)
The EXP points are used up first followed by the Form.

Each member can only say one category for themselves.
And it will go until all the points are used up.

If you have any questions about my training, leave a question below.
It looks confusing at first but it's rather simple,
and this will be the only method for me to progress talent wise.

See, I knew it would be the first option Pfft Still, a 7th place in the stage is very good, probably better than what Travis could achieve starting the climb with the peloton. And he finishes ahead of Craddock, which must feel good for sure Pfft Overall, very good race for Travis, if he keeps these results up he definitely won't have to worry much about not having a team next year. Even because, of course, perhaps before that he'll have to worry about his injury/depression/death or whatever that will stop the story Pfft

As for the point, I'd even go with DH if it was EXP, but now it's form, so SP it'll have to be Pfft
