issoisso: LLS in negotiations with Movistar
Just when I was starting to quite like Movistar.
If you dislike him for his suspiciousness/doping then you should probably already dislike Movistar.
Yeah, but I'm not sure if Quintana is doped yet and he was winning me around. Plus their kit is pretty.
And LLS, thats not complete cos I'm sure Nieve signed for Sky too. |

Belkin
*Ins:* Nick van der Lijke (Rabobank Development Team), Barry Markus (Vacansoleil-DCM), Jonathan Hivert (Sojasun)
*Outs:* Tom Jelte-Slagter (Garmin-Sharp), Mark Renshaw (Omega Pharma - Quick-Step)
Thats quite a downgrade. I thought Belkin gave them some extra money?

I don't know. Renshaw is useless and a complete waste of money with anyone who isn't Cavendish. Slagter definitely was a huge loss for them but Van der Lijke is a really big talent, Hivert gives them a sprint option on more bumpy stages and Markus is another young sprinter who might actually go somewhere. I think they've done alright to be honest.

I dont like Horner any more than Froome. Lets just say they are equally suspicious. Why cant Anti Doping Agencies just catch everyone who dopes or is that too difficult to do? If thry havent caught people then it means that either tey dont dope or they are using something that is effective and not part of the test.
It all comes down to money!
The people who create the product will always be one step ahead of the anti-doping agancies as they can't effectivly test for something they don't know is there, also funding the anti-doping agencies better will therefor equipe them better to detect things alot earlier than they currently are able too. Yes cycling needs to clean up cycling but to say that anti-doping is a waste of time is a step to far.

Belkin's transfer season wasn't that horrible, actually.
Hivert isn't a lot worse than Slagter to me(less talented though), Renshaw replaced by a more talented rider(though ofc less experienced) and V/D Lijke is a bright talent

Really like Lotto's transfers this year for some reason. Plenty of great talent added with Monfort and Gallopin who should prove to be great addtitons.
They should be one of my favourites next year, as will AG2R. |

Omega Pharma have had a good transfer period so far. With Uran, Bakelants, Poels and De Gendt.

Could anyone be bothered to count the CQ points (or any other relevant scale) in and out provided to each team by these transfers ? |

I haven't got the time to collate them but PCS keeps tabs for each individual team on their 2014 team pages (scroll to the bottom):

Interesting to note that 17 Vacansoleil riders have found a new team so far but only 3 Euskaltel riders have met similar success - surely someone like Caja Rural would be looking to take some of them on?

I must agree. That is a bit weird. Personally I believed that Euskatel was generally the better team. Though a few of their good riders retired didnt they?

I guess that Euskaltel riders were put about by the Alonso saga, whereas Vacansoleil riders were already negotiating by then
of course, then when the deal for Euskaltel failed, most squads were already filled |

Not as detailed but quite informing. |

Caleb Ewan has signed for OGE. Will ride for the team as a stagiare during August of next year, and will sign permanently in October.

This is the best combination for him. He is allowing himself to develop properly next year riding at his level and then moving on to the team at the end of it. Hopefully that extra year of maturity will serve him well.
