Thanks all. Farrar indeed needs to improve now to win the jersey.

Actually it was quite similar in the ASO, too but after 2 1/2 seasons it is:

Cavendish: 59mo,68hi,84sp,85acc
Farrar: 58mo,69hi,82sp,78acc

So very similar uophill but Cavendish of course by far the best sprinter Wink

I will delete and reinstall my computer this evening. So don`T expect more updates today Wink

Have a backup of all files I think, so the story can continue afterwards.

Finally the Giro began! I really like your story and read it every day, also because it's very real! I hope Martin rides a nice General and maybe Boom can attack in the last week!?

Thanks a lot.
It`S the first time that I will have a level 6 training with all my leaders in the GT`s. Just missed it in the Ardennes.

Before I always avoided it as it was really bad in PCM09, where level 6 made you exhaust immediately. But since the fitness is much more important in PCM10 I want to give it a try.

Martin is at least one of the best climbers in the Giro next to Nibali, Basso, Soler and Ricco.

Stage 3 will come soon. Actually I am a bit annoyed at the moment as Farrar`s fitness is at 91. Absolutely flat stage, 150km. So no problem. 12km, still full bars.
7km full bars. Start to follow other sprinters. Pulse of 190 and when the sprints start I have no energy left.

This really sucks.

Giro d'Italia - Stage 3

As the whole first week the 3rd stage is also pretty flat. We won`t go into the break this week I think as we need all our energy for the harder stages. Also we have one of the big favourites on flat stages with Farrar. Hopefully he can do better today.

Again Quickstep is doing lots of the pace. They wouldn`t be that angry if the sprinters would take the overall until the mountains I think. So they could save lots of energy to bring Scarponi on the podium.

2nd sprint finish, 2nd winner and 2nd weird sprint.
Boasson Hagen takes the win after a long sprint in the wind and takes the overall lead. Cavendish decided to start the sprint with just 1,5km to go and so he missed his 2nd stage win as he was by far the best in the end.
Tyler Farrar had the same problem as yesterday. Good position with 7km to go but then totally exhausting for some reasons. Now it will be very hard to reach his goal. He now has to start doing better. Also Bennati is quite a disappointment so far.

Too bad both Farrar is underperforming despite his good form.. hope he'll do better in the remaining flat stages!

I also hope so, I still need to find the best tactic in the end to avoid that high pulses. Plus Cavendish is incredibly strong so far.

Another very flat stage. But with 211km much longer than the first two.
Hopefully Farrar will find his form today.

9 riders in a strong break today.
Bertolini (Androni), Etxegibel (Euskaltel), Clarke (Sky), Stahr (NetApp), Van Staeyen (Quick), Lequatre (RadioShack), Jørgensen (Leopard), Valentin (FDJ) and Vitoria (Geox).
Except of Van Staeyen and Vitoria all of them were already in the break in one of the last days. These guys will definitely feel their legs in the harder stages much more than others.

Quickstep had a calm day as Scarponi lost the overall lead. Now Sky and especially Liquigas are doing the pace. The Italian team is without a GC contender for the first time this year. Nibali and Basso both transfered to Lampre and so their hopes are on Gilbert and Bennati, but the sprinter didn`t do better than Farrar so far.

Under the 20km mark the breakaway is over. Tristan Valentin is caught last and we will see the third sprint finish in a row.
This time Farrar will take a wheel with already 12km to go, although I think that he will even suffer more than waiting until 7km to go.

Obviously not. He got Napolitano`s wheel and with 4km he was directly behind Cavendish.
In the end it wasn`t enough to beat the Brit but a 2nd is definitely a good start into some more nice results hopefully.
Unfortunately he looks unbeatable if he doesn`t forget to sprint.

Thanks. Hopefully Haussler will do better in the Tour then if Cavendish is too exhausted after the Giro. But other than last year Greipel isn`t here, so he might be ready for the Tour Wink
But, who is Greipel, if you have Haussler Wink

Cav indeed looks unbeatable - oh wait, he just doesn't look, he is unbeatable =P

About the struggling thing, always happens to my riders of my story (ofc). What I did to try to avoid that was protecting them until 6,5 km left and then try to get a wheel. After all, pre sprints in PCM 10 are really strange. Riders go to the front at any moment, so it's not hard to get a wheel even close to the sprint start.

The day when I started the sprint with 12km he was 2nd Wink

That is the weirdest thing.
