Well, that wasn't the best breakaway stage for Schmid, and he completely blew up here. Not much harm done, he wasn't going to win the U25 shirt anyway - and probably was saving some energy for the better suited stages (of which unfortunately there aren't many...).
But on the brighter side, Stüssi continues to ride a fantastic race, getting another Top 10 stage finish and only losing one spot so far! Still a lot of tests to come, but he's looking really good!
Points lead gone, U25 lead gone, teams lead gone - it was fun while it lasted, no there's no more pressure on us
Thanks for the report, and congrats once again to Dombrowski!

Solid stage for us, nothing fancy. Since Galta's best characteristic is his energy stats and big engine, it's fair enough that he's not at the top of his cohort on this sort of stage. 6th place is another fine result. He loses a couple of seconds to a few guys, but also gains a few on a few more. Nothing major gained or lost. There are still a lot of mountains in week 3 where things can go wrong (and Galta's recovery is a tick behind guys like Hirt), but I'm very happy with where we're at.
Dombro and Haig are just in another league though. Seeing them blow everyone else away by a minute here was a sight to behold.
Thanks for the reports!

Aaaand we lost the polka dots as expected. Priority number one is getting that back at the next opportunity.

Gave him a fight, but eventually it's 2aig as always here
Also Shikai's performance makes it still hurtful to have lost him in free agency battle. Would have been here for us here instead of Haig and been a useful second stage racer. Happy for his manager though

Hopefully we do something in the 3rd week to come away with some points.

Haig is definitely bringing the fight, but Dombrowski handles it like a champ again.
Still we're only ahead by 32 seconds, so we need to stay focused. One bad day, fall, puncture or split could put us back in second place.

A bit dissapointed with Ioannidis, but the others did well, and that’s the most important.
Still crossing my fingers that Mavrikakis and Giannoutsos hits a proper break to get some Stage points, preferably a win, and an upgrade to the GC.

Worst mountain stage so far for Stüssi I guess, but 11th is still a solid result. He lost another spot, and is dropping towards the lower end of the Top 10 - as expected. It remains to be seen if those riders will already be allowed into breaks, given that Dombro & Haig are just crushing the rest...
Not much to say about the rest of the team, Darbellay and Schmid both had pretty bad TTs, but that doesn't matter a lot anyway. Now maybe some breakaway success on the next two stage, which should be the most suited for that - not much more for attackers to get, given that JD seemingly wants to win every single uphill stage ^^
Congrats to Gazelle nonetheless, really great racing by Dombrowski so far - although Haig is still really close - one bad day, and we have a new leader...
Thanks for the report!

Enger in 5th is better than in recent stages and to be honest Enger has performed well, but we are going to need more from him in the remaining sprint stages, if we can't get anything from the climbers.

I wonder if we ever get a breakaway win. This game is quite different to the Old version in that regard. Nice to see Vila getting out there to fight for som KOM points though. He won’t last in top 10 unfortunately, but atleast we are out there.

The climbs took too much of Ahlstrand here. Such a shame as we are not allowing breakaways here it seems

Wow, that was a big stage for us! Küng definitely wasn't among the riders I expected to try something on this kind of stage, but he did a great job and even moved up to 4th in the KoM standings - something that clearly won't last, though.
And Bol then delivered just a masterpiece of a sprint - perfect positioning, out of the wind, then somehow finding enough space to jump up front - and catch the already celebrating Santos by surprise. Fantastic job, rewarded by two more Ciclamino days! Looks like his versatility is paying off on such pretty tough transition stages...
Thanks for the report!

A pity the breakaway couldn't go slightly easier on the climbs to stay intact for the long flat roads that followed. If they had, they surely would have had a great chance, I think.
Wouters in third is a great surprise Maybe his recovery stat is doing some work? I have no clue And Bol is amazing, congratulations again, Fabianski! |

Sureda launching from over 2k out is quite the move.
Mildly disappointed only because this kind of transition stage is one where Sureda's climbing should actually give him some relative advantage against the pure sprinters, and he wasted the opportunity. But he literally won a mass sprint here in a ridiculous field already, so even if he abandoned the next day, it wouldn't have been an underperformance.
Congrats to Jura! Admittedly, if I'm not gonna score, I prefer PCT to take those points slots, so I've been rooting for you.

Cullaigh with another serviceable result even though he wont be fighting for the points jersey, still one opportunity left for a win. Carthy on the other hand is doing ok, moving up to 6th by being consistent is good but we are faced with quite a large gap to 5th and above so moving up will be difficult. Plenty of the race is ahead of us so good luck.
Dombrowski kinda farming the points at this stage and now leading the race so no surprises there - perhaps Galta being a strong 3rd being the big surprise so far this race. Good luck to everyone in the last week proper!

Thijssen struggling a bit at the back end of the 3 weeks to only get 11th but still fighting on! Hopefully we can get some exciting racing from our team in the final week with Mas in a breakaway.

Great effort from Giannoutsos. Too bad it didn’t bring him a stagewin. I must admit that it scared me to see him attack on a Stage like that, given the history of breakaways.
Moving up 1 spot in the GC doesn’t matter much, but I could dream of him making one more great break to pick up some more KOM’s. I’d suspect his efforts will make him drop tomorrow though.
