Guys looks like I was too late to meet the MSR deadline. I put my team in yesterday (hastily at around 11am).
It would have scored 120. I don't know if you can kind of add me in as a +120?
Sagan - 40
Gaviria - 26
Kwiatkowski - 46
Gallopin
Trentin - 2
Mareczko
Moscon - 6
Modolo
Barbero
Simon
Stuyven
Barbin

Sounds like you were bang on the deadline and it may have bugged out? If you missed it the team shouldn't be there at all I would've thought, unless late entries are actually allowed in Spring Classics. I'd email or tweet George at Velogames and see what he can do, he usually sorts stuff pretty quickly. Contacts on the website.

Sorry Smowz, but the deadline and the points table on Velogames is final. I can't start adding players after the deadline because it's not fair on everyone else.
Your team is in now so you'll pick up points for the rest of the game.

P-N and T-A were terrible partly due to rushed team selection.
Off to an ok start in MSR but used 5 transfers already prior to DDV, I am going to run out of transfers again I know it.
Thanks again for organising this ringo.

I thought i had failed miserably in Paris-Nice with Porte losing 15 bloody minutes, but not so apparently. |

Don't worry mates about asking you to tip your secrets, BUT
What are a sound tactic on this very different setup ?
(I don't like to pick your brains to beat you, just an honest thought from a confused mind)
So many riders are not starting in the next race, and making too many transfers early will perhaps hurt you.
Then should one concentrate on your stars or 4-pointers when making transfers.
Some riders not starting in this a bit smaller next race might come back for the bigger one down the line. Should they be kept in the lineup and not wasting any transfers for just one race. The race structure change too, with cobbles and not cobbles races.
I was thinking also that your stars might get hurt down the line,
AND even more important.
HOW do you keep track of those 4-6 pointers if they are very hurt and perhaps out for the remaining races all together.
Scanning all twitter, facebook and team website takes hours-hours and a full time job I guess.
Happy to see what your much more clever brains are thinking.
This 11-12 race ordeal are surely hard for a rookie.
Remarks that if Degenkolb is riding or not. Some twitter say no, some yes, some startlist have him riding, our fantasy betting have him on and FirstCycling have him out of Treks lineup.
That's why I think it's bloody hard to make those transfers with all that info flooding around.

First of all, I always save 8-12 transfers for last 3 races. Second of all. I'm chosing riders that are riding in most races. Right now (even that I'm last, no surprise ) I have 6 riders riding DDV, and I know I will use 2 transfers for next race. Which gives me 7-8 riders that will ride E3 and G-W without any more transfers. Just like that . |

I respect that mate.... But honestly it's my first crack at this very different version.
Even now was looking at Peter Sagan low odds in fantasy, and he as Degenkolb surely isn't even starting. Perhaps one will wait until the deadline, risking missing it like some others did. Good decision though that if you miss, you are out.
Else I might even wait until Kwaremont and present my transfers.

I'm pretty pissed off myself having made the odds, I had waited until yesterday to set that bet up because Sagan wasn't looking sure. Sources were reporting he was going to go, others were denying that, but ultimately PCS had him in the startlist for Bora with number 159 and a green tick near their team. So I just went ahead... turns out Degenkolb and possibly others aren't taking part either...

I got a basic rule question.
If one transfer a rider for a race, will you loose the points he got in any of the races already done.
Even taken a rider out, then putting him back on later in the series.
So to say, points made are in the bank for that race done and dusted, and added to the total even if you no longer have the rider on your team.
I really didn't get that little more complicated messing with riders in the rules on velogames, so perhaps someone could put me straight.

Any points earned are banked after each race. You don't lose any points by transferring riders out.

Sagan will not race Dwars. PCS startlist hasn't in the Bora roster and it has the green tick. Either Cyclingfever.com |

Yes Matt he was on yesterday. Might be just a trick to confuse other teams.
Regarding injuries:

And it is hard for a rookie (like me) - but wtf is fun !

Transferred GVA in for E3 so feeling pleased with myself.
Transfer strategy is tough, trying to choose riders who will ride most races is a good idea but then they go and pull out. Next you start waiting for the last minute to do the transfers and miss the deadline (and of course that's when your missed choices do great). Then your top riders crash out and you are forced to make more transfers and run out of transfers for L-B-L.
Its infuriating and I love it

Wow (Juraj) Sagan scored non assist points - pleasantly unexpected.

Was looking divine when I had the first 5 on the road in Gilbert, Sagan, GVA, Naeson and Van Baarle then the crash barrier intervened. ..
Didn't turn out too bad considering many had Sagan and Naeson anyway and Van Baarle was just getting dropped, so probably wouldn't have got as high as fourth otherwise.
Shame that crash detracted from the spectacle a little even if Gilbert's ride was momentous and looking good already. |
