Mhm, so Cancellara went from podium guarantee to not being seen at all?

Degenkolb showed far more power than Kristoff or Matthews- just like Kristoff, he was bound to win MSR at some point.
Disclaimer- Most of my posts are me thinking aloud. And most of what I think is rubbish.

Phil's crash though. I can't believe he is fine. That's so lucky. Massive crash |

Matthews was badly boxed and needed to wait when Dagenkolb passed him..

Good race, but crashes ruined it. Kristoff loses it because he had to catch up on the Cipressa after a fall. Well deserved for Degenkplb after last year.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I also believe that this was the most boring race since a while. Except for the crashes, there was nothing going on. No attacks, no fights for positions, just a big peloton pedalling to the finish line. |

He was boxed in, otherwise he would have been up there. |

Should have had more action on the Poggio though. Only GVA and Thomas. Last few kilometers are always exciting in San Remo though, that finish is legendary.

Deserved victory for Degenkolb after last years unluck. Kristoff also showed class, but started to early. The strongest man today was without a doubt Luca Paolini. |

Good race until the Poggio. Bad race from the Poggio.
Whatever. Cool races coming up this wednesday and friday. Then a boring race on sunday, and then another cool race all week + on sunday |

too bad that he left Kristoff at the front alone waaaaaay to early.
won't say what I think about the race, going with the "if you don't have anything positive to say, don't say anything at all" motto.

He wasn't well placed for the sprint, I think he could have contested for the podium had he been better positioned. But still I thought he (or anyone else for that matter) would attack on the Poggio, when Paolini was alone doing the work, he could barely close the gap to Oss and yet no rider decided to go before only a couple of hundred meters before the top. This is actually the first monument that Fabian doesn't podium since 2010 MSR
On another note, I think cio93 can finally release the anger from last year's P-R, when Degenkolb got 2nd because "no one else wanted to win"
