I thought about Ian Butlers idea, and found a way to make a little challenge for you containing that. More will be announced when the results of Belgium come in |

Tomorrow I´m back from my girlfriends house, so today just a short update:
We will sign Kristof Vandewalle, as he is one in front of the others. He will be a great domestique on flat terrain and get his chances in breakaways and TT.
The other rider as well as the challenge will be announced tomorrow in the evening! The voting is still open... |

Belgium – Rider Signings
We had a close vote with 3 favourites.
Kristof Vandewalle, winning by one, was already confirmed yesterday. He will bring in time trial abilities, so he could lead small tours with a TT, power on flat terrains for teammates, or take his chances in breakaways.
He will be joined by Jelle Wallays. Jelle is a real allrounder for different terrains, so he will be helpful as a domestique or an attacking rider in different types of races.
Current Team
| Frank Schleck | Leader | | Lieuwe Westra | Leader | | Marcus Burghardt | Co-Leader | | Bob Jungels | Co-Leader | | Kristof Vandewalle | Co-Leader | | Rick Zabel | Talent Free-Role | | Mathieu van der Poel | Talent Free-Role | | Patrick Gretsch | Pro-Domestique | | Laurent Didier | Pro-Domestique | | Jelle Wallays | Pro-Domestique | | Julian Kern | Domestique | | Alex Kirsch | Domestique | | David van der Poel | Domestique |
Jelle was chosen over Jens Keukeleire, because we needed more a domestique than a captain. Jens will be added to the list for the contract discussion after our country trips.
Scouting Database
Today is the day we officially sign you guys for us. We need you as our scouts; together we build up a huge scouting network. The plan is to build up a database for riders, so that we won´t miss out any interesting young rider or potential leader for a contract interview.
The first step is that you sign as a scout. You can choose a major country where you work, this country will be reserved for you. Additionally you can choose up to three minor countries. These regions together will be your working area. There you can scout on riders coming from there as well as riders who take part in races in these regions.
Write about their potential or performances in your regions! I will add the riders to a list on the first page, linking the rider to the post in which you report about them.
The database will be found at the third post at the beginning of the story.
Ian Butler initiated this database by his idea!
It shall look like this:
Scout Database
| | | | | | Croatia14 | Major: | Minor: | Scouted Riders:4 |
Riders Database
| | | | | Marcus Burghardt | Leopard-Evonik | Croatia14 |
link
With a link on the riders name to your post
You can already sign in as a scout, but the scouting reports shall start after the signings.
Contract Trip #5 – Czech Republic + Slovakia
After signing riders from our main regions, we will go on our singing tour in other interesting regions. Therefore we travel to the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
We will sign at least two riders from these countries, one or two from the Czech Republic as we have Skoda as a sponsor from here. We are mainly looking for domestiques in the next countries, as there are not many spots for leaders in our budget. Jens Voigt is well-known here and will be a boost to our signing goals.
Your Task
Sign in as a scout!
Make proposals for signings from the Czech Republic and Slovakia! |

I'd like to sign up as a scout for Belgium (Flanders en Wallonie and Bruxelles) if that's okay
Maybe a minor in France, too! |

@Ian Butler & jandal7 great stuff!
I don´t count as a scout, my sign-in was just an example, so Luxembourg, Germany and the Netherlands are free to take!

@jandal7: Huzarski is Polish so don't count him as Czech or Slovak
as we aren't watching for leaders I would suggest Frantisek Padour or Jan Hirt, both are decent climbers, and Hirt is also quite young still
Thank you Andy for everything!

You can take a minor region of one of the others as your major, or one of the major regions of someone other as your minor, just each country can only be one major country :) |

so far...
Czech Rebublic & Slovakia
Czech Rebublic
Barta
Padour
Hirt
Kadlec
Slovakia
P.Velits
M.Velits
Kovac
Baska
Jan Bartra will be a tough one, since he signed a three-year-contract with Bora-Argon 18. He and Peter Velits would be captains, the other rider domestiques with more or less chances to ride for themselves

Czech Rebublic & Slovakia - Riders Selection
You made some interesting proposals for this region, especially when we look at the amount of domestiques this could be a weightful round for us.
To the current suggestions I would like to add two young riders.
Petr Vakoc could be a very interesting man for us. In the strong and deep Etixx-Quick Step team he has less chances than we could offer him. He would get a talented free-role. Finishing second in both road race and time trial of the Czech national championship he could be an interesting factor for our sponsor Skoda. He already won a World Tour stage; an amazing breakaway victory at the Tour de Pologne last year.
The other rider I suggest is Michael Kolar from Slovakia. He can sprint well, but doesn´t really get the chances for that at Tinkoff-Saxo. When he get´s his chances he can get some results (Tour de Langkawi), and he seems to be pretty talented. Could be a second row sprinter.
So we have these riders to choose from:
Czech Rebublic
Barta
Padour
Hirt
Kadlec
Vakoc
Slovakia
P.Velits
M.Velits
Kovac
Baska
Kolar
Bartra, P.Velits and Vakoc would only be signed together with a domestique.
Your Task!
Choose the riders from Czech Republic and Slovakia!

I could also take Netherlands as a minor
I'm not 100% sure what we're supposed to do as scouts yet, though, but I guess that'll become clear later on? |

Yes, that will be clearer after the signings, and when the season starts...
You can, it´s only your decision if you want!
