La Pomme Marseille - Bye for now!
sutty68
Every team is entitled to have quiet days once in a while Frown

jph27
For a young team, there is no shame in those results. Wink

I dont see whats so "poor" about that report, seemed good to me.

Pellizotti2
Thanks all. I suppose "poor" was a confusing choice of words. I meant that the text wasn't really top class, since I didn't really remember the race.

I've got some bad news unfortunately. There seems to be something messed up with the savegame. When I try to go to the next day, some sort of buggy race shows up, without the possibility to choose a squad.

Shows up on the day after Circuit de la Sarthe's last day, but isn't a part of the race while also not being any one day race.

Would appreciate if someone could help out, as I can't go past with 3D race, simulation or any other method.

Oh dear, how frustrating, hope someone can help. Sad

I used to have a problem with the stage Plouay - Plouay and it turned out that when i had added a stage into the editor, i had forgotten to put the race files in to cm_stages Frown
Don't know whether that would be of help to you Wink

Ian Butler
I don't know how to do it myself, but couldn't you edit yourself a day later?

Pellizotti2
I haven't added any stages, so that's not the problem.

But yeah, skipping a day could work. I'll try that.

Good news!

I've managed to solve the problem, thanks to lluuiiggii. Unfortunately I had to use a weekly save from a few days earlier to make sure that it'd work properly. Therefore I've rerun all the Sarthe stages up to the last one, to start up again from where I left off.

Final stage of Sarthe coming up probably later today!

Oh, and this is the new GC ahead of the stage. Smile

Didn't skipping the day work? Frown At least it's not a major race Wink

There were still stages from other races left on the bugged day, so I decided it would be better to go back a few days and make sure everything would work out correctly. Smile

In that case, I think you could skip just the stage, and not the day, but I'm not sure Pfft But well, good to know it's working fine now Smile

Paillot got closer now. Pfft

Thanks all. Once again, sorry for the slow progress.

i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l614/adamsellling/La%20Pomme%20Marseille/sarthe_04_01.png

Vaubourzeix successfully makes the jump into the day's primary breakaway in the beginning of the stage. Along with him also several other riders, including the KoM jersey of Denis Flahaut.

i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l614/adamsellling/La%20Pomme%20Marseille/sarthe_04_02.jpg

Suprisingly, it's Vaubourzeix himself who wins the first intermediate sprint of the day, pipping several, on paper, better sprinters!

i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l614/adamsellling/La%20Pomme%20Marseille/sarthe_04_03.jpg

His strength lasts, allowing him to snatch a few more seconds at the second sprint, just beaten to third in a battle of millimeters.

i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l614/adamsellling/La%20Pomme%20Marseille/sarthe_04_04.jpg

Laurent Pichon tries to pull off a long sprint in the uphill battle to the third and last sprint of the day, but Vaubourzeix again gets the better of everyone else and jumps past in the final few metres.

i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l614/adamsellling/La%20Pomme%20Marseille/sarthe_04_05.jpg

The peloton starts to close down the gap rapidly, so Vaubourzeix drops the rest on the next climb up to the KoM sprint, heading for a solo ride over the last two laps.

i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l614/adamsellling/La%20Pomme%20Marseille/sarthe_04_06.jpg

He reaches the top of the climb for the penultimate time with a lead of around half a minute. Oscar Gatto has accelerated past the breakaway together with Francesco Ventoso however, shutting down the gap very quickly.

i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l614/adamsellling/La%20Pomme%20Marseille/sarthe_04_07.jpg

Vaubourzeix completely blows up on the final climb after getting caught, while the two upcomers enter the final kilometer well ahead of a chasing Julien Antomarchi, with the main field even further behind.

i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l614/adamsellling/La%20Pomme%20Marseille/sarthe_04_08.png

It's a very even battle, but Spanish champ Ventoso just about gets the better of his escape companion at the top, nabbing the stage win for Movistar. A frustrated Gatto follows, whilst Antomarchi overtakes Vaubourzeix for third.

i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l614/adamsellling/La%20Pomme%20Marseille/sarthe_04_09.jpg

Perichon saved all of his energy for a last burst on the final ascent, and manages to sprint clear for fifth place, just behind his team mate. But obviously, PCM decides to annull the time difference back to the rest, removing all gains. Needless to say, extremely frustrating!

The GC is the same as the stage result, with Ventoso taking it in front of Gatto and Antomarchi, thanks to the time they gained today. Paillot at least gives us a decent result by hanging on to ninth.

Paillot hanging on!

Almost for Vazoubeirzek. Let's hope that Paillot hangs on that top-10.

Seems like this wasn't clear - the race is already over. Wink

La Pomme squad

i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l614/adamsellling/La%20Pomme%20Marseille/pcam_02.png

The sponsors are expecting a victory from the team, so we've sent basically the strongest possible lineup. It's very hard to predict ahead of the race how hard it's going to be, so Perichon and Siskevicius will both enter the race as captains, and we'll decide who to go for depending on how the race turns out.

Startlist

i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l614/adamsellling/La%20Pomme%20Marseille/pcam_03.png

Adrien Petit has been in amazing form lately, and should definitely be the big favourite if it ends up in a mass sprint. Recent Circuit de la Sarthe winner and Spanish road champion Francisco Ventoso will give him a good battle though. The latter will also be favoured by the hills.

The race

i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l614/adamsellling/La%20Pomme%20Marseille/pcam_04.jpg

Thinking that the final climb isn't hard enough to use as a launchpad, Perichon is off on the steeper second-to-last one, over twenty kilometres out!

No one else seems to fancy having a go, so he swooshes past the members of the early breakaway in a matter of seconds. A chase is immediately mounted behind, with the sprinters' teams not willing to allow any leeway.

i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l614/adamsellling/La%20Pomme%20Marseille/pcam_05.jpg

Once the climb's percentage drops near the top, Julien El Fares takes things into his own hand and sets off in pursuit. Perichon has meanwhile found a good rhythm, leading the peloton by almost 45 seconds.

i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l614/adamsellling/La%20Pomme%20Marseille/pcam_06.jpg

The domestiques seem to be unable to shut down the gap, so several others decides to have a go as well, just as the race hits the final climb.

Maarten Tjallingii, Lars Petter Nordhaug and Samuel Dumoulin are all among the more active ones.

i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l614/adamsellling/La%20Pomme%20Marseille/pcam_07.jpg

They just wont close Perichon down however, and he enters Vimoutiers still with a little bit of advantage over the rest. Will he be able to hold on in the sapping uphill finish?

Tjallingii attacks again inside the final kilometer, narrowing the lead down more and more. Tony Gallopin kicks off the sprint in the meantime, with Siskevicius following in, what appears to be, the perfect wheel.

It doesn't really matter anyway, as the sprinters have mistimed it! Perichon is able to maintain his gap all the way to the line, repeating his real life victory whilst also checking the first goal of the season!

A (+4) daily form surely helped a bit, but nonetheless an incredible victory. Very important for the team morale as well, after some tough weeks. Things are looking far more bright now, don't they?

i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l614/adamsellling/La%20Pomme%20Marseille/pcam_10.jpg

The best part is that we're not done there! Siskevicius profits from his strength in uphill sprints to nip past Gallopin in the finale to make it a double victory for us! Best race of the season already, perhaps?
