He is 9th, 46s behind Evans. Perhaps he can take Machado's place. But Pinotti probably will be faster

Today's stage wasn't the best of this year's T-A imo but the finish really made me forget about Montelupone's absence. This could very well have been the Flèche.
It was a great victory for Evans. Also awesome performance by Tiago Machado. You can tell now he has matured enough to know how save his strengths to the key moments of the stage. He just lacks some extra power to really be able to dig a decisive gap that can grant him wins. I don't mind though as long as he has the guts to attack in a group full of sharks like he did today.

Good stage. Evans was the best tactical out of those in the top and took a great stage victory. Also impressed by Visconti and Poels. |

Nice stage, Evans did great, difficult to see another one but him winning the race.
And hopefully Machado can gets a nice result tomorrow, at least to guarantee a Top 10 on overall, or maybe even better

Chieti, Montelupone or Macerata are very similar to Fleche Wallone. Cadel had the experience from last year of chieti and macerata, had a TEAM behind him this time and of course he won La Fleche last year. Still a bit surprised with no time gaps given between the first 12 in the stage today. |

Very nice finish from Evans, but what happened to Cunego?

Yeah having the team this year helped him immensely - he could actually save himself until the end rather than having to set the high pace himself. Good on him.
Don't they usually only give time gaps if there is at least a 2" gap or so? |

I believe there just needs to be a bikelength of a gap, although I'm not sure if eery race uses thesame rules

Gesink is pretty honoust in the papers. He said he hoped for more after the team time trial, but he is simply not super yet, he knew that. "The Tirreno is not really a goal, but after the team time trial you hope for more. I was mainly here to learn again how it is to ride a stressfull race and how to get in position in nervous finals. I'm good, but not super yet. I have the white jersey and it makes me realise I'm still in the category of young riders. But by now I have won that classification so many times it is hardly special." |

i indeed read that and it's good to know he wants to learn for stressfull finals, cause at this moment, he is not very good at it xD
Still awesome job by langeveld yesterday, he brought him where he needs to be
Too bad that he got to far behin a round beforeand need to close a gap too the favourites

Anyway, Poels is the revelation here. That's at least good news. I really look forward to seeing him in the classics. Hope he takes enough rest and doesn't race too much or he'll burn out |

Let me rephrase that for you. Kolobnev hopes that Di Luca will enter the top ten of the general classifiation.

Vacansoleil got messed up with Ricco and Mosquera, but Poels and De Gendt really impressed at this start of the season. Carrara and Leukemans are also in good form.
PS: Speaking of Evans, it's rather strange 'cause he transformed himself in a hilly classics rider, usually it's the opposite (look at Valverde, DiLuca, J.Rodriguez or others). He can still climb mountains, but on the big ones, I'm afraid he will blow up, no mather what form he's got.

Mosquera is still on Vacansoleil isn't he? So it is more about Ricco.
