Yeah, that was confusing.
At least it's better than their stupid metaphors:
"Cherry-Ripe" (endlessly calling Cadel Evans that before his 8th place in the Giro )
Some random piano metaphor because the rider who was attacking could play piano.
"It could go pear-shaped just like an avocado that has been left out for a day too long."
and many more
Are any of the commentators in other countries like that?

Cosmo Catalano's U2 jokes were hilarious in his L-B-L video last year (because Bono was in the break)
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Well, this would have made for a good weekly news entry
Congrats on your sixth birthday (this may help you feeling younger, won't it?)

While checking through the old threads I came up with this
https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....ost_213323
The point is that Turkish people are really stupid. But which other nation did I expect to hack a cycling team that has nothing to do with them?
Have a good laugh

I have to say, my number one "pet peeve" about starting a new job must be fact that you are informed about all the "formal"aspects of the office; e-mail, passwords, who you can talk to about this-and-that, etc, but no one ever says a word about the "informal" office rules!
As I new guy at the office, I once went three weeks without knowing that every friday my departement gets together for coffee at the end of the day. How's the general mood, at what point do this departement get off for lunch? The first two weeks I ended up eating lunch with people from a complete different branch of the office because no one told me that "we" didn't normally break for lunch until about an hour later than most other departements.
And when I finally got a hang of that schedule, I was still screwed because they are such a tight-knit group that I couldn't have shoe-horned myself in even if I greased myself up like a butter-soaked roast.
There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

Considering that's quite close to where Alak lives, I believe, I'd recommend you to ask him

I am seriously dissapointed with the amount of Tour de France advertising in Utrecht. only a hand full of banner at the central station, a couple of flags and some titles painted with the TdF Utrecht logo
edit: dutch train seat are freaking awful, just so bad.

Phone help needed
I've had and loved my HTC Desire Z for a few years now, but it's getting more and and mroe weird. Now starting to get downright unruly soI'm afraid that I'll have to retire it. My problem is that I can't figure out what to go for now since I haven't been able to find another phone with a keyboard, which is the reason I love my current phone.
What I want from my new phone:
- Not iPhone and not Samsung (Have had different Samsung phones at work and they just doesn't rub me the right way.)
- Android
- Small enough to handle with one hand and fit in pocket. Similar to Desire Z at 119 x 60.4 x 14.2 mm.
- Possibility to add SD-card would be nice.
- Decent camera, especially in changing lights and moving objects like concerts and moving child. Don't care one bit about selfie-cam.
- Not too fragile when dropped on hard surfaces or exposed to dust and moisture.
Any ideas as to where I should look?

Motorola Moto E (Gen 2) 4G could suit, it's a nice phone on budget, suits your dimensions which is why I suggest this one mostly, 4.5inch screen. Released in Feb 2015 so that means it already comes with latest android version and has also a guarantee of the next android (M).

Generally, for the price, nothing beats Motorola nowadays. Well Chinese phones do in terms of spec but it's a nuisance sometimes with shipping etc so yea Motorola for less hassle

Thanks. I'll try looking closer at the Motorola then. Really is a jungle when I haven't followed the phone market since early 2011

Only phone I know that has a keyboard now is the BlackBerry Classic, which just came out a few months back. That's not Android though, it has Blackberry's OS with Android Apps compatible.
I honestly can't stand touch screen keyboards, so I'm still rocking this LG messenger phone from 2008 that doesn't even have a name I think.

Didn't actually know that Android apps are compatible with BlackBerry, which is the main reason I didn't consider that previously.
I love having the keyboard so I can find it when writing longer texts to avoid having such a large part of the screen disappear. That also means that I'm quite happy it doesn't use space from the screen at the front when not in use so still a bit sceptical to BlackBerry but it might be worth finding a shop where I can try holding one in my hand.

Will be in Germany for the next ten days, I will most likely not have wi-fi so I will be out of reach until then. |
