De Gendt to OPQS. That's about as bad as it will get.
With all his moaning I really was hoping he would fall on his face and not get a WT contract

True, but this year it does not seem so bad with Atapuma, Velits, Stetina and young Zabel coming, dont know if i forgot someone.
and this confirms isso theory..what did they actualy get?! |

Some nice helpers ensure thier GT leaders get some great top 10 finishes obviously. Plus a young sprinter.
They still have pretty awful leaders. A past it Cadel and TJ who is unlikely to win any GTs unless we get another TdF12 route (or gets way better at climbing in the time honored american way ). |

De Gendt what a fool. He signs for 20 % at the team that's one of the worst possible fits for him.

It seems like if him and Rojas went 1v1 they'd manage to find a way of tieing for second.

I agree that Garmin could do alot better looking for another sprinter and move Farrar on, maybe Von Hoff might start to deliver bigger results now he has a season at WT in his legs. Farrar might not win much but with all his top 10 finishes he does pick up valuable points and you would think he would of signed a reduced contract this time around.

Farrar is still quite valuable rider. He can sprint as well as anyone in the current Garmin's team, is good in short ITTs and can do a great job in TTTs, and can be useful on cobbles (there aren't many riders in the team to support Van Summeren and Langeveld for next year).
As long as he agreed on reduced sallary, he is decent option for the team. There weren't many better sprinters on the market to bring them into the team and Vaughters admitted that GC of stage races will be team's main focus for 2014. |

Care to explain why it's a bad fit?
I think it's a good move for De Gendt, they can give him structure and consistency as well as help him with his TT.
Also, being a mailman probably gets paid far less than the 20% he's getting now... |
