Very nice result. I could never dream of getting a top 10 in a cobbled classic on extreme. To bad the form wasn't better, but your riding or should i say managing very well

baia
Yes,for me it´s a great result...i still can´t tell if i´m good or bad in cobbles because i never played them with a big rider....i hope i can do just like you,for me will be great.Wink

6th is still a good result. Spartacus is unbeatable on the cobbles.

Thanks all.
So I repeated my result on hard also on extreme. So I am happy.

Congratulations with a well performed race! Cancellara is invincible, but you did a great job with the poor daily form! Continue like this!

Cancellara!! Again Grin

A great 6th with Haussler, on extreme and not good daily forms that's very impressive Wink

I also like the fact that the winner came home alone and then a group of 4 and finally the 'big front' group. Never happens in my game, always a 20~25 rider sprint in Roubaix =/

Thanks both of you. Cancellara is way too strong on cobbles Wink In the last 3 years I never had a sprint in PR, always someone winning solo.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/PC-logo.jpg

Paris - Camembert is used as a preparation race for the Ardennes classics. So our riders don`t have a perfect form but they should be able to get good results. The profile is very hilly, especially the 2nd half will be very hard, so there won`t definitely no sprint finish of the whole peloton today.

Hesjedal and Kessiakoff are our leaders. Martin has no good form yet as he is focussing on the Giro.

Paris - Camembert
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/PC-1.jpg
As already mentioned the first half is still quite flat while the 2nd one will split the peloton.
As there are always longer descents and flat parts after every climb there might be a group sprint for the win today.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/PC-2.jpg
A big group attacked after 30km. J.Murphy, M.Claude, F.Guillou, D.Ignatiev, R.Mathéou, R.Sinkeldam are some of them.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/PC-3.jpg
Wilson and Meier are doing the pace. The gap is already quite big and so they really have to fight now.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/PC-4.jpg
Several riders with an attack. Florencio (Saxobank), Westra (Rabobank), Finetto (Liquigas), Harbonnier (Differdange) and Bertogliati (Androni). A strong group now.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/PC-5.jpg
On the last hill Sicard, Hivert, Pauriol and Hesjedal tried it but as all others they were caught again and so the last descent is coming.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/PC-6.jpg
After a short relaxing time Hesjedal is attacking again with 4km to go and the last short uphill part. He already lost a lot of energy with his first attack and so he isn`t successful now. But we had to try.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/PC-7.jpg
Markus Fothen counters his attack and this looks much more promising. Immediately there is a small gap to him.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/PC-8.jpg
And so he wins today with a very small advance ahead of the peloton lead by Sicard and Hivert. Unfortunately Hesjedal and Kessiakoff lost all their energy and couldn`t sprint for a nice result.
Also the group was much bigger than expected with almost 50 riders there.

The Brabantse Pijl is a Flanders Classics held in the region of Brabant in Belgium. Often hilly sprinters are able to win here but also the favourites of the next 3 PT classics use it as preparation. Record winner is Edwig Van Hooydonck with 4 wins followed by 3 wins of Oscar Freire.

Garmin squad in 2012
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/BP-Team.jpg
We participate with the same squad than in Paris-Camembert but of course hoping for better results.
This race is one of Hesjedal`s most favourite races. He was 2nd in 2010 behind a strong Gilbert and winner in 2011. The course changed now but it should still suit him very good. With Martin and especially Kessiakoff he has nice support here to defend his title.

Leuven - Overijse
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/BP-1.jpg
The first hald leads towards Overijse. Then a 16km curcuit starts. The riders have to ride 6 laps on this very hilly circuit.
As it is not as hard as the last course we can`t expect that many splits.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/BP-2.jpg
5 riders in the break of the day.
Da Dalto (Androni), Förster (NetApp), Cappelle (Landbouwcredit), De Schrooder (An Post) and Renders (Willems).

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/BP-3.jpg
The peloton passes the finish the first time. The group has still an advance of 5'40. FDJ for Roy and Europcar for Sicard are doing the pace.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/BP-4.jpg
Florencio with an attack and just 16km or one lap to go. The group is already caught now.
Sicard, Bakelants and Bellemakers try to follow.

Hesjedal decided to wait for a later moment. Martin and PAte are doing a high pace, while Hesjaedal is looking for a front position supported by Kessiakoff.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/BP-5.jpg
3,4km to go and a last climb before the finish. The attackers are in the peloton again thanks to our riders.
Now Hesjedal attacks on a very steep part.
Immediately there is a gap of 10-15s and no one was able too follow this strong acceleration.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/BP-6.jpg
His advance was big enough. He wins with 8s ahead of the peloton.
This is really a good race for the Canadian.
De Gendt and Vanendert, both Omega Lotto complete the podium. Their squad was very dominant with 4 in the top 10 but obviously it wasn`t enough for the big point.

Now we are looking forward for the the Ardennes classics. We don`t have the greatest rider for these classics but some top10 or even top5 results like in 2010 would be nice. In 2011 we finished just a bit behind in all 3 races.

Great win with Hesjedal!! He's looking good for the Ardennes Grin

@ lluuiiggii : Unfortunately it`s very hard. But especially on mountains it is working with the dot fortunately.

Yeah, we're able to break with dot, but not the AI, which means that in the end of a mtf, it's like 2 or 3 riders who broke away (usually a rider of ours in the middle) and then a 25 riders group, because the AI tries to attack with the attack button, and almost always fails.

Thanks all.

The Amstel Gold Race is a hilly classic around Maaskant. It`s named after the Amstel brewery. Since the finish is on the Cauberg in Valkenburg the race is normally won by the best hilly riders. Before that there were less hills and a flat finish, so many sprinters were able to win this race, too.
Record champion with 5 wins between 1977 and 1982 is Jan Raas.

Kolobnev won it the 2nd time after 2010 and so he is also a big favourite for 2012 as this race seems to suit him perfectly. He really knows where to attack.

Route in 2012
I will play the 2011 course, where one hill more must be ridden. Other than that everything keeps the same.

Hesjedal is our leader in this race but also Vansummeren and Kessiakoff showed in other races that they can get nice results. With Maaskant and Pate we have two great helpers for them.
Our goal is to get a top10 result although this will be very hard.

Lots of hills today. The hills aren`t very long but very steep and so we won`t see a big peloton in the end.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/AG-2.jpg
A bigger group around De Gendt (Omega), Pinotti (FDJ), Camaño (Movistar), Eisel (HTC) and Possoni (Sky) in the lead.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/AG-3.jpg
Especially Katusha, Lampre and Leopard are doing the pace. As Sinkewitz and Rodriguez are also doing the pace the whole team is working for Kolobnev to bring him the triple.

After climbing the Eyserbosweg the first time a big split in the peloton. Just ~60 riders in the first group now. Luckily still 7 Garmin riders there. Just Meier couldn`t follow.
Our daily form wasn`t bad but Hesjedal and Vansummeren (0) and Kessiakoff (+2) doesn`t make us too happy either. In the knowledge that their form will become better and better with every classic we especially focus the next two.

20km to go and F.Schleck with the first attack. He must feel very strong today. Just Cunego can follow him.
A bit later also Pozzato, Kolobnev and Cancellara follow them. Was this the right attack now? Vansummeren tried to follow but no chance for him.

The attack just was for 5km then everything was together and this time it was Peter Sagan with a nice attack. He really improved well.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/AG-7.jpg
Some teams increased the pace on the Eyserbosweg and so Hesjedal wasn`t able to follow. That is really a pity as there are still quite a few riders ahead of him. Wrong decision probably on this hill. Also Vansummeren and Kessiakoff are already behind.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/04%20April/AG-8.jpg
With 3 km to go Schleck attacked and just Sagan was able to follow.
In the uphill sprint Sagan had no chance against Frank and so he wins the first big race for his new Astana team.
Kolobnev continues strong in this race and completes the podium.
Our riders couldn`t perform that well here and so Hesjedal just finished 28th as our best rider.
Not the best day for us but hopefully the next two classics will be better for us.

Too bad Hesjedal lost contact. Sad Hopefully, he will do better in FW and LBL.
