It's a shame one of the most attacking climbers will have to domestique...

At least that's better than someone who never sits down, ever |

Disturbing as it may be, the move still makes sense. Aside from the dawg and Porte, Sky's team really wasn't that strong this year. A classy climber like Nieve strengthens their core a lot.

Yes, cyclo-cross, of course.
Also, he's had a history of teams that's not really recommendable : stagiaire at Cofidis late 2003 (remember the scandal there 6 months later), then two small Belgian teams (rather badly reputed for Jatarzi, not sure about Chocolade Jacques), then AG2R (the worst big team in France in terms of doping reputation), now Movistar, not really the cleanest team of the peloton.
Not a defender of Gadret at all. But this argument just doesn't work, because then 70% of good riders fits your description.

Such as ? I'm referring to the French who turned pro in the 2000's. |

Bakelants signs with Omega Pharma Quick-step. Don't like it. He'll have little races where he'll be free to attack like he did during le Tour.

Don't like it either, but it was his only choice after collapse of Alonso ream for this year.
OPQS lost some important riders this season, but still so far have made best business out of any WT team. Cav lead out sorted with Ale Jet and Renshaw as well as a viable GC contender with good support. Two good talents in as well. Very successful job by them.

And what about Lotto-Belisol? Anyway, I'm worrying about De Gendt, this doesn't look very good for him... |

Considering for past month or so there was zero connections linking him to Lotto. It looks to me it was never a choice from beginning. Not sure whether due to money issues or because Lotto had different plans set.

I am really disappointed by Nieve going to Sky. I have said before that he is one of my favourite riders and certainly my favourite climber. On the other hand I understand why he moved there, and I am glad that he still has a place in a WT team, which was never certain to happen.
