Ineos locking out the podium. At least Chaves won.
Otherwise, pain. |

Very impressive by Chaves to ride away from the Sky train, although they clearly weren't going full gas. They now have the full podium... cool...
Hoping McNulty shows a bit more climbing legs soon. I know he's very young, but his TT is so impressive that if he can just gain that extra bit of endurance in the mountains, he'll be well on his way to being a GC contender. I know I shouldn't get my hopes up with how many Americans have been busts though recently. He could easily end up as TVG.

What happened with Ineos being more aggressive and attacking? At least Chaves ran away with the stage. |

No Bora at the start of E3 Classic after Matthew Walls (who wasn’t even scheduled to race in the first place) tested positive for Covid. All riders tested negative, but a cautionary tale for future races. Pity since Politt would have been a nice joker for today and has been riding well. |

It's so nice to see the orange Euskaltel jerseys back in a WT race.

Vingegaard strikes again! And Ayuso, who I mentioned a couple of days ago, is 6th. Don't mind if I enjoy this quite a bit. |

Curious to see GVA and Naesen how will they play it.
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Masterclass by Mapei, I think if Stybar attacked in the end it would've been a 1-2-3. Asgreen incredibly strong, Stybar underratedly strong and Senechal wasn't going to get dropped or outsprinted either.
The AG2R duo was a bit meh, both are approaching the end of their time as race favourites and they really played it badly. Wout wasted to many powers trying to get back all the time and really deserves a better team. Mathieu had Vermeersch but still had to do a lot himself. It'll be hard to defeat the Wolfpack if they can keep this up. I mean Lampaert was there as well, Ballerini had a lesser day and they still have the World Champ joining them in Waregem and Ronde.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

AGR2 played it very bad thats right. But both could follow those strong attack by MvdP.
GVA was many many times strong but he seems too often to play it wrong.
I hope that quickstep will be defeated in Tour of Flanders
Asgreen was strong but definitely not the strongest. They simply let him go away without proper effort to chase him I expected that Naesen or GVA would do this kind of attack. GVA should have realized that he simply cannot wait for sprint anymore
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Well sitting alone 60+ km is not easy, you are right assuming that if everyone worked together against him, he would have lost. That proves he is not a Robot, but it does not prove that he was not the strongest today.

Covid really hurting the classics at the moment. Trek needed to pull out of Gent-Wevelgem yesterday and this morning Bora was told they couldn't start because most of there riders had to go into quarataine. It's likely both teams will miss more races due to quarantine restrictions.

QS tactics 100% reliance on Sam Benett and hence doing nothing most of the race and then he cracks...
