Sad and anonymous day for Brazil in the B champs. The top favourite wasn't up to the task either which actually made for an entertaining race. Thanks for the report!
In the TTT race, though, it really was a massive effort from the old dogs. Congrats ragazzi!

Not surprising that The Netherlands couldn't extend their reign. Only 3 of their time-trialists are good climbers, a few are mediocre and the rest are awful at it. They even had to select a guy with 66 TT.
They'll be back on a flatter course.
Well done Italy, congrats!

Italy surprised me a bit, but well done!
Russia was really disappointing, not even making the Top10..
Now I hope that the ITT won't focus as much on the MO stat (I suppose the TTT did in an extreme manner).

The course is totally different, so no need to be afraid of that ;-)

Well, both goals was accomplished here. Lecuisinier got his medal, and Vasyliv was inside the top 10 - But how all these silver medals hurt.
Twice 2nd in the Tour de l'Avenir and now 2nd at the U23 World TT aswell. Always slightly off pace to Oz is a bummer. Can we please share the wins? I'll take the U23 RR then. Right?

Congratulations, tsmoha! A somewhat surprising winner, but definitely a very deserved one! SotD and Lecuisinier must see it as a golden chance missed.
Cool to see the pure TTers mix it with the climbers, which should mean that also the Elite's TT will be difficult to predict.
Nice to see Galta grab a top 6 as well, and funny to see Korsæth and Turek amongst those in the top 10, admittedly it doesn't make much sense to see them there looking at the stats
Thank you for the report, the_hoyle! |

Wait.. You got the PT crown, this should be enough
What a f**cking great win for Haig and me Totally forgot that he might have an outsiders chance here. This is a special victory. Haig helped Morton winning Avenir and now takes his very own memorable result! If he now pulls Morton to the RR title, I would go crazy like for nothing good We haven't won a single ITT this season, so that's another special thing here.. Great, just great.
I will drink a beer or two.

Oh yeah. Congrats on the win, and thanks for the report
What race is next? The U23 RR or the Elite TT? I guess the TT would fit best for Gesink this time.

Pretty pleased with that race. Borisavljevic in 12th is a great result considering he is no where near being maxed. A similar TT in a year or two and he would certainly be a contender for much higher positions. Frame also in 15th representing the team well considering he isn't much of a climber.

Glad to see the Mountain TTT threw up some different results, and the U23 ITT too for that matter. Unfortunate for Zmorka really that Mountain was voted for in the Worlds this year, else he would have dominated, but he already has a PT classic win, and maybe on a good day can challenge for the main World title in future.

I'm not quite sure if I like the outsiders winning the TTs in Paarl.
And who argued that the ITT route wouldn't support climbers?

Olivier with a nice top10.
Could not ask for more. Mountain route made it more interesting than a flat Zmorka domination.
Congrats Tani tsmoha.
And huge thanks for the report. |

Aww... Verona sooo close to a medal. Great result for him, but a tad disappointing to come that close and not get on the podium.

Congratulations tsmoha! Certainly an outside winner, but a deserved win nonetheless.

5th is okay for Keizer. Had small hopes that he could win or at least get a podium here but he is always a bit behind the others and rarely wins.
But it`s nice to have a guy for the Elite ITT.
Strong performance by Pluchkin. What a season for him.
Regarding TT vs Climber, I`d say it was okay that it was towards stage racers after a mountaineous Worlds had to happen. Luckily Phinney took a break this year as otherwise it wouldn`t have been as exciting I guess. |
