Landa has given up doing anything and the rest of our guys took a SPA-trip to portugal unaware that there's a race going on apparently.
Only possitivity from this season with Landa is that he's going to be dirt cheap next year.
My top 5:
Machado
Neppo
Brazilian
Cataldo
Kwiatek/Boily

Seriously, no breakaways, no anything. What a dog shit of a race. |

Still good, still optimistic! Has to be the most exciting stage race for our team so far!

Not a great stage, would have been much better if Kwiatkowski had distanced some of the weaker climbers in that group of 6. Looks like he'll have to settle for 5th or 6th overall depending on his TT, which is below our expectations. Hopefully he can hold onto the points jersey as a consolation.
Congrats Gustavovisky on achieving the win goal, Machado was the big favourite but he still had to deliver. He has this race in his pocket now. |

Tvetcov At least this did not turn into Japan, with a time trial left, I hope he can hold on to 8th place, maybe we can improve on Cataldo as well, but that is just a dream

Now, Machado raped them all today... Well, almost all Nice to see this overwhelming favorite crushing the competition by miles. Also George Bennett currently looking good, but the TT will surely hurt.

Congrats to ember and my former loanee, Hoem! Great win. A pity that Juul-Jensen couldn't hang on, but not a surprise. Great to see him trying something, after that woeful start to the race.
Levarlet also doing a fairly good stage, given his stats. Just a shame that he has been so poor in the hilly stages coming in to the mountain stage. Looks good for two guys in the top 20 in the GC, so hopefully Docker and Faerk (oh, and yeah, another break) can give us something to cheer for in the coming stages.
Nice to see Machado delivering on the level he should, compared to the others.

Yeah this was the stage I was looking forward to with Rodrigues. With the season we're having I'm used to defeats but I'd never have thought that he'd fail so bad. 91st and more than 20 minutes behind is a bad joke.
And for Quaade missing the time cut, that guy is such a waste of money. I'm not surprised though because my entire team is.
I'm so done with this team. They all could do so much better.
At least Boonratanathanakorn joining the break. But with our luck that's the day the break doesn't suceed. Also Nepo missing the time cut, maybe means we finally join the right break on the last day.
Edit: Oh the break did suceed, nvm me congratulating Boonratanathanakorn for his efforts.
Congrats ember

Brilliant from Hoem!
Must admit I hoped for a breakaway stage win when I picked the team for Portugal, as I felt we had the depth to cover potential breakaways on the hilly stages and mountain stage well. But obviously luck was needed, and the racing has been fortunate for us, with breakaways taking many stages.
11th place in the GC before the TT is also a big bonus from Hoem. A bit disappointing from Stake Laengen on that mountain stage, considering his stats I hoped he would have been at least around Hoogerland, but I guess it was down to a bad day, or let's cross fingers he saved himself for the TT, where his chances of a top 5 should be good, as far as I can see, especially if the TT specialists are tired from the many tough stages.
Thanks for the report, Atlantius, and congratulations to Gustavovskiy. Must be a great relief to see Machado prove himself just when it was needed. |

Some of you guys get too much luck.
So Iglinskiy (about the tenth best climber in the race) starts the one stage which suits him in 18th place, what happens? He drops out of the top 20......
I really am not looking forward to the rest of the season, we must be the one team in the MG who has got practically nothing from breaks this season, don't look like changing, luck has been nowhere for us: not like season 1 that is for sure. |

Great job by Kangert! He's going to have a fight for top 5 with Boily and Kwiat in the TT. Both shouldn't feel very save.

Yeah, imo Kangert should easily get 4th. |

Neither have I. Didn't get anything last season either so I might take the prize for least lucky team
Anyway here I think it have mainly been an issue of the leading team not having the motivation and/or ability to reel the breaks all the way in. Still they have set a strong enough pace for the stage favourite teams to spare themselves for too long. And then the two flat-rated stages were just too hard for the sprinters so they couldn't catch the break without destroying their captains in the process...

My top 3 prediction look pretty solid so far aswell. Congrats Gustav for making the win goal, it seems! Atleast Tiago will win something this year!

Very probable to get 2nd in the GC now, which is good. Also still a good chance on a second stage win here, and adding those together we should get some decent points in our fight against relegation.

Atlantius - A close one between us perhaps. this season, though you did get a 5th place from a break in your last stage - that's just about as well as we have done all season, unfortunately!
Relegation talk:
Come to think of it as Chernobyl and Vontobel are doing so well here, at the end of this race, by my reckoning Euskaltel could be occupying the last relegation spot with a big gap to the four below. Hmmm! |

Yeah well we have been an absolute joke in the Mountainous PCT races as seen here we have also had horrible luck with Valls not finishing in the Top 50 on any stage here other than the first one. At least for the first time Izagirre tried something... Took enough time.
The Baltic Chain Tour with Bouhanni and Bonnet will be ever so important for us. The Mighty Tour of America where we have Lopez and Arroyo will decide our season. Colombian Venteaux we should get something. In Beijing we will struggle.
So this is Valls' last race... great end to the season for him.
Relegation here we come...

Breakaway win nr. 100 for Aker this year? I stopped counting weeks ago.
Congrats Ember, we are here to pillage the PCT and you did the job. Also big congrats to Gustavovskiy, Machado proved to be the king here, Pluchkin style.
Lame stage from Karnulin, i though he would be at least in top20 of GC after this stage. Overall not a good race from Metinvest, if i had a choice i would not enter PCT at all, wasted race days.
