Wasn`t aware of Caleb Ewan being quite a good prologue rider as well. That said, many sprinters obviously doing great in those short runs if having ambitions in the race.
The startlist is actually pretty good with sprint duels of Ewan, Farrar, Goss, Von Hoff, Van der Ploeg...
A bit surprised to see Androni there with Pellizotti tbh.

Very close sprint. Weak sauce leadout from Renshaw. No HTC flashbackss, that's for sure.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

I want to see the photofinish.
Not sure about Cavedish there. 10cm behind the line it looked like Guardini.
Edit: There it was. How close.

That was so very close. I thought he was beaten on the line but Guardini slightly mistimed his lunge.

I thought Cavendish had it ahead of Guardini when they hit the line. The photo finish shows it to be closer than my eyes thought it was at first viewing.

Guardini nearly doing his signature thing there. No-one else close, with Viviani not getting out of Cavendish's wheel.
Sabatini popped about 3 seconds after hitting the front for EQS, good job Nibali did a long turn beforehand with Guardini in mind.

Praise Jebus he managed to win a race again, can't remember when the previous was, and he was supposed to be Belgium's next top sprinter a few years ago.
Now just to get De Gendt back to his 2011 level
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

What kind of stage was that? Judging by Gautier's 4th and Vanendert's 11th place and the small gaps I'd say that it was either a windy or a hilly stage. |

It is certainly a bit hilly one so that may be the reason, in fact the finish looks uphill

Highest point is 60m though looking at the results it seemed to be echelons, quite a few large groups. |

Yeah, Roy Jans tweeted something about being in the first echelon all day except at the end. |

Bevin
Anyone followed this stage? Any particular reason for this huge gap behind the leading group?
