Love the jersey, but I love any Leopard graphics. Interesting voting for Dutch riders as well.

Great jersey! My votes are in as well
@jandal: I am making jerseys for TMM's Womens' DB, and this was something I wanted to make for Croatia. As he said, it was discussed over several PMs, before the finished product was made.

If you were doing jerseys there would be way to many requests.

The Netherlands - Riders Confirmation
We have a result for the poll containing the riders from the Netherlands. It´s pretty similar to the German vote.
We will sign the voting-winner, Lieuwe Westra. He is an experienced rider, who can fight his ass off either for himself in an attack, to chase a breakaway or to lead out a man for the final of a race. Lieuwe receives a captain-role.
Then we will sign two brothers - the van der Poels. David, the older one, will be a domestique, while Mathieu gets a free-role for developing. His father definitly had an influence on their decision. They will both take part in cyclo-cross races for their original team, hopefully as successfull as they do right now.
Dylan van Baarle and Karsten Kroon will be added to the final riders poll.
| Frank Schleck | Leader | | Lieuwe Westra | Leader | | Marcus Burghardt | Co-Leader | | Bob Jungels | Co-Leader | | Rick Zabel | Talent Free-Role | | Mathieu van der Poel | Talent Free-Role | | Patrick Gretsch | Pro-Domestique | | Laurent Didier | Pro-Domestique | | Julian Kern | Domestique | | Alex Kirsch | Domestique | | David van der Poel | Domestique |
We couldn´t persuade the van Poppel-brothers of leaving Trek, especially since Danny is a go-to guy in sprints for Trek.
Contract Trip #4 - Belgium
We are continuing our riders trip to Belgium. There we will add at least two riders to our team, could be one more for now. There are 1-2 captain roles open, but remember that we will have a last poll with some interesting names...furthermore we are no magicians so watch out for the chances for us to get the riders you want us.
Your Task
Suggest riders from Belgium!
Explain why we should sign them and why they would like to join our team! |

There are a lot of big names in Belgium... this could be interesting!
I think Nathan van Hooydonk would be a good addition. Young puncheur with good potential.
With a small link over the Cyclo-cross, maybe look at Niels Albert. Could give some experience to the team, and maybe an extra edge in the cobbles.
Tom Van Asbroeck - a good sprinter, who has youth on his side.
Jürgen Roelandts - maybe tempted away from Lotto for a more lucrative position on the team. Could easily lead the team in the sprints and cobbles.
Julian Vermote - again could be tempted away from Etixx with a more lucrative deal with the team. Good TT rider

Westra should be strong, my suggestions:
Thomas de Gendt/Maxime Monfort/Jurgen van den Broek: Just one of them, but they would be a leader and very strong.
Jelle Vanenvert: Strong Climber/ Puncheur
Kristoff Vandewalle: A strong Time-Trialist/Domestique for the team.
Tom van Asbroek: A very strong young future cobbler.
Stijn Devolder: A super-domestique on cobbles.
Stijn Vandenbregh: Another strong Belgian cobbler.
Gianni Meersman: Could be a very strong sprint leader for the team.
Jelle Wallays: Another young talent.
Roy Jans: Young and has had an allright season.
Jens Dubbuchere: Could be a leader.
Jurgen Roelandts: Another Leader
I only want to suggest one leader of these, even though I've said more.

I just add one more rider - Sean de Bie, I really would like to see him in the team very promising young puncher
Thank you Andy for everything!

so far...
Leader
Maxime Monfort
Co-Leader
Julian Vermote
Talented Free-Role
Nathan van Hooydonk
Sean de Bie
Pro-Domestique
Jelle Wallays
Kristof Vandewalle
Domestique
Niels Albert
I would like to discuss about Stijn Vandenbergh, Jurgen Roelandts and Jurgen van den Broeck. I think we could get them, but they might make our team too strong...They are not as addicted to our team as Maxime Monfort might be (Galibier 2011)
Vanendert & de Gendt & Debusschere have too big rules at Lotto. Van Asbroeck just signed with LottoNL-Jumbo. Jans has a leadership on another PCT-Team so no needs for him for a change. Meersman and Develoder have good roles/contracts with World Tour Teams. |

we will wait a day before the voting starts, just to make sure everyone who has ideas can bring them into this...
should the poll include Roelandts, van den Brouck and Vandenbergh? |

I don't have the time to suggest at the moment but has Jens Keukeleire been considered as a leader/protected rider? A great young prospect and talent, I think he is exactly what we need.
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Niels Albert is probably impossible, as he retired due to heart problems last season.
What this team lacks so far is simple domestiques, as we already have enough leaders for PCT. Riders like Gaetan Bille and Preben van Hecke would form some excellent support on the flat, whereas Yannick Eijssen and Sebastien Delfosse would be excellent for when the roads go up. For a higher role I think Maxime Vantomme would be our best option, as he's currently in the CT and should be higher up.

Didn't read all of the above so sorry if you've said his name but Wellens could be a PCT puncher leader.
Another good name is Vervaecke, but he's new at Lotto so might not be so eager to switch teams already... Vanbilsen would make his transfer from Topsport Vlaanderen and could lead the cobbled season |

Suggestion Corner
@Selwink: I agree with you looking at both of your statements. Albert will be out of the list (only saw he retired, didn´t know why). Some Domestiques would be good and these are great suggestions.
@Ian Butler: I think there is no way to get Wellens and Vervaeke from Lotto-Soudal, due to the fact they both ride in the World Tour and have fitting roles in a fitting team. Vanbilsen could be in interesting man, but he is also leader at Topsport so this will be difficult.
Focus
Leader
Maxime Monfort

Julian Vermote
Maxime Vantomme

I want to bring in just one more rider - Klaas Lodewyck from BMC as a Co-Leader. He could be the man for tough sprints, and might sign with us having a better role in mind.

No, Topsport Vlaanderen doesn't work with leaders. Vanbilsen had a great season and then they're ready to let him go. Topsport wants to raise talents and then let them go free. So getting Vanbilsen after his great season would be possible |

I know that it works like that, but Vanbilsen is maybe the strongest rider in the team so he will get a lot of chances there. I understood Topsport as a "voluntary developement team" for the world tour, but not really for teams in their own category. Correct me if I´m wrong :) |

That's true, yeah
I think we should also have a shortlist, though, riders to watch if we were to promote to WT in 1 of 2 seasons. Riders we didn't end up picking but could be potential leaders/riders for the future, such as Vanbilsen and others. |
