Leadership for Kiserlovski only, he's in better shape, and Machado has shown he's not good for three weeks.

Vini-Fantini
Mauro Santambrogio, Francesco Chicchi, Danilo Di Luca, Stefano Garzelli, Oscar Gatto, Jonathan Monsalve, Matteo Rabotini and Fabio Taborre ( 1 missing )
...........
Really liking this team, no doubt will be one of the best during Giro, possible even best Italian team depending on few things.
In Santa, Di Luca & Gatto they have quality riders for stage wins, possible even GC in Santa.
Tabbore, Garrzeli and Rabottini are fantastic riders for breaks, would be very surprised if they didn't get a break stage win at Giro. In Chicchi they have a good option for sprints ( not really that helpful at Giro this time ). However if he somehow makes it all way to the end, he could be big favourite to win the last stage.

Any announcement from Garmin?
I mean besides the obvious that Hesjedal is gonna be riding.

They seem to have 6 riders on their provisional startlist, according to the usually reliable procyclingstats website:
HESJEDAL Ryder
DEKKER Thomas
STETINA Peter
RASMUSSEN Alex
HOWES Alex
VANDE VELDE Christian |

Who would fill it up. Farrar, Navardauskus, and Hunter? Maybe Jack bauer?

Bauer and Navardauskus would be great if they are targetting the TTT like they usually do. I doubt they will go with Farrar as they will probably want to concentrate on GC with Hesjedal. Vaughters is a smart enough man to know that you shouldn't split your leadership.
Is Farrar still going to race the Tour in the ridiculous belief that he can win another stage there?

1. Wiggo
2. Nibali
3. Hesjedal
now it's really guessing
4. Scarponi
5. Henao
6. Pozzovivo
7. Santambrogio
8. Intxausti
9. Moreno
10. Kelderman
Dissapoint: Basso and Samu. Evans will save himself for the Tour (where he will be the biggest dissapointment) and Gesink will fall which isn't really a dissapointment aymore.
Surprise: Kelderman who will make top 10 after he gets promoted to team captain when Gesink falls in stage 3.
Maglia Azzurra: An Italian rider from a wildcard team
Maglia Rossa: not a sprinter, Nibbles or Wiggo maybe
Maglia Bianca: Kelderman |

I like you
Hmm. I fear that Gesink falls at a later stage, when Kelderman & Kruiswijk already far away at the GC, due to working for Gesink

1. Nibali
2. Scarponi
3. Wiggins
4. Rujano
5. Santambrogio
6. Betancur
7. Basso
8. Kiserlovski
9. Kruiswijk
10. Intxausti
Rabottini takes maglia azzurra and Nibbles the maglia rossa.
Fails: Gesink, Sanchez, Evans, Hesjedal. Kelderman will not do bad for a first timer but is overhyped here so many will say he failed.
Cav will only win one sprint.
Vini Fantini will be the best Italian squad in the race.
Il killer di Spoltore wil win a stage. As will Gatto, Rabottini and Garzalli.
Colombia Coldeportes will be a letdown.
AND: Nibali will go on a ridicilous attack (Gardeccia/Giau descent, Lombardia, Liegi) and will finally succeed with it!

AS well as Santambrogio who has totally proven himself in Grand Tours before, and will for sure be fresh in the 3rd week because we've seen it with him all too often in years past.
Im not saying he wont surprise but so far he's had only a few really solid mountain stages before, but those were in shorter stage races, and up until this season he wasn't exactly known for being a top climber.
I personally think the only way Hesjedal doesn't make the top 10 is if he's involved in a crash.

And Santambrogio who hasn't peaked yet.
I see Hesjedal as a sure top 10, probably top 5. Hopefully podium or win. I'd say it's impossible but look at last year. Can only hope.

Don't see the point in criticising someone else's list. The predictions are completely subjective, which means that there's no right or wrong. Just because you think Hesjedal will be better than those riders doesn't mean that everyone does.

Anything can happen, who knows if Hesjedal have still some juice he used last year?
And +1 to Pelli, suggestions are subjective and they should differ, otherwise it is boring...

I'm sorry to say, Hesjedal might make it into top 10 but I don't see him winning. Nibali and Wiggins are in way better shape that him. This year he has not even won a race or come close to winning any, yes he attacked in LBL but couldn't make a sustained effort, could he.
Last year he just got lucky, no offense. It was surprise to him too. His nearest rival, Joaquim RodrÃguez had come to Giro last year with no intension of winning it. In fact he was unprepared for TT. So much so that this year is the 1st time he has had aero testing at Mercedes F1 team wind tunnel in GB.
Of course last years others like Scaponi, Basso were not in great form either. You could see it in last mountain stage when De Gendt attacked others were struggling big time. But this year with guys like Wiggins and Nibali you have to be 100% or you'll have massive gap by the end of Giro. |

Cannondale
Ivan Basso, Elia Viviani, Tiziano Dall’Antonia, Paolo Longo Borghini, Alan Marangoni, Fabio Sabatini, Cameron Wurf, Cristiano Salerno and Josè Sarmiento.
If Basso wasn't screwed before, he definitely is now. He will have a very hard time making it into top 10. |

Can anyone recommend good options for watching live Giro stages in the USA? Imagining it's not on TV in any form so good online options?
It was eleven more than necessary.
