I am pretty sure that the MO stat is not used in this stage. Therefore it makes no sense to compare the MO stats of your riders.
Stage is labeled like a mountain. Slope is 10-12%. Evans, Kessiakof, Gerrans, Daniel Martin etc rides 4km/h (effort 80). If this is not mountain... well then even more: WTF is going on? |

Actually I just checked it and it was classified as mountain stage. But as said just 33% mountain and 66% hill.

Why can it be that a stage is classified as mountain stage but the hill stat is used?
Bad game programming? Bad stage editor programming? Bad stage design? Bad DB?
But as far as I know you cannot fix such problems in the DB anymore, so it must be either game or stage editor bug.

I think the people expecting crazy realistic wars of atrition need to recognize that the very format of the stages makes this difficult in that the "shortened" scale of everything would require very crazy and herky-jerky rider movements to get that correct.
And the game simply can´t display 10 riders within 40 seconds that will also build 5-10 "groups"/single riders in the end.
Heck, sprints are 3 (1 on mountains) KM long for crying out loud.
I´m very happy with the way things are going right now with the weaker riders being dropped going over the summits (in real life they´d be gone halfway up, but who cares really ?) , then smaller groups building in the end.

Yes, the 1:10 scale is a real killer for the realism but sadly Cyanide might never change it.
Cyanide tries to make the game LOOK as real as possible but this prevents the races to BE as real as possible. |

just the final climb and/or the last 5 KM in a spring or 20 in a classic race being in a bigger scale (1:3 f.e.) would be nice.
Because in general i rather live with a bit of a lack of realism but still being able to actually get in a ton of races. It´s just that people have to come to grips with the limitations and see it as a game. And as a game, imo it´s realistic as in "logical" in how things happen.
Did anybody ever play the old Cycling game named Team Telekom Eurotour Cycling ? That was 1:1 scale and boy did it grow boring until the final climb (i think you could speed way up though, maybe 32x speed. Of course, it also crashed every other stage on a bad day ) . But yeah, the final climbs in 1:1 scale were pretty epic |

In HILL Martin was still 77 vs 72 but igonring this was mountain or hilly stage... This is ridiculous: 77 MO 77 HILL guy on free effort 82 practically is stationary (4km/h) with pulse 186 when 61 MO 72 HILL guy have pulse 160 and follows him with no problem and after 3-4km on the 10-12% passed him. Its something wrong with engine in this car. |

The KmH display seems wrong anyway (allways lower than IRL), but it´s not like it has an impact on the game as it´s wrong for everybody then.

OK, so everybody rides 4km/h no matter how good are they in mountains/hills and Evans, Martin, Sanchez has no chance to ride away even on free effort 85 beacause everybody stays in the same one place. Great.
EDIT: Next stage, last in Tour of Oman: flat with small but stiff hill on the start, Martin passed all peloton with no problem. 15km/h on the 15,3% slope with 66 free effort...
Maybe this 5th stage is f...d up, i dont know...

First of all sorry because this question has no doubt been asked before but where in the editor can i find this information. I searched the forum and came up with a blank and i'm after looking in Lachi's editor for a column with gene_mountain but be damned if i can find it or even something similar. |

I think you can see it ingame. When you look at the bottom of the screen were the races are you can see some have a icon. A small hill is a hilly race, if there is a mountain it's a mountain stage and a clock is TT.

You can see it by opening the stage info (.cds file) with the Stage Viewer/Editor. It used to be included in STA_stage in the .cdb files as well, but in PCM12 this is 'automatic'.

Thanks lluuiiggii, i think i've found where it is.
I ran the CTStageViewer.exe in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Cyanide\Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2012 folder, then under File, Open stage data i can open the .cds files. For example the Trofeo Zssdi is the file c2_zssdi_2012.cds ( i presume) and it has Gene_f_Mountain altitude = 0.14 in the stage data, among other things. Which if i understand correctly means 86% hill/14% mountain, even though it has the mountain stage icon ingame. |

I experienced another group sprint (30+ riders in the same time) in the TdF stage to La Toussuire, which obviously isn't realistic at all. Any chance that this was fixed in patch 1.4? |

To illustrate my frustration, the results of the mountain stages in TdF 2012.
La Planche des Belles Filles:
Nibali
Gesink at 20s
Evans at 28s
25 riders at 40s
Porrentruy: sprint of 82 riders in the same time
Bellegarde-sur-Valserine: sprint of 23 riders in the same time
La Toussuire:
Contador
34 riders at 8s
Foix: sprint of 58 riders in the same time
Bagneres-de-Luchon; sprint of 16 riders in the same time
Peyragudes:
Contador & Wiggins
F. Schleck, Van den Broeck & Nibali at 13s
12 riders at 33s
Am I doing something wrong here? I'm riding with Rabobank and I get these results regardless of my strategy. Even when Gesink is riding at the front with 80% effort, more than 20 riders will easily keep up. This way, simulating mountain stages to get some gaps might be wiser, because now the time trials are having a way too large influence on the GC. |

I have read that the "passive multiplayer AI" might cause this, check the settings in the options. |
