Just noticed this story, and I have to say that the reporting is brilliant, as are the graphics. That picture on the Galibier was just wow.

Stage 11 [IMG-r]https://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/profil11-1.gif[/IMG-r]
Marseille - Montpellier
182.5 km
Thursday 19 July
This stage headed due west from Marseille along the Mediterranean coastline to Montpellier, and the heat and wind would likely play a role. The sprinters' teams were aching to fight it out in the home straight after having had few chances lately. They would likely reel in any breakaways in the final 50 kilometres for a bunch gallop in Montpellier.
Trying to defy the bloodthirsty sprinters were David Millar (Sauner Duval), José Iván Gutiérrez (Caisse d'Epargne), Alessandro Cortinovis (Milram) and Cédric Hervé (Agritubel). They were pretty chanceless though, as their lead never exceeded much more than two minutes.
The breakaway heading for Montpellier.
In the last 20 kilometres of the stage, the crosswinds made themselves felt. Even after catching the breakaway, the strong rouleurs continued to lay down a fast pace at the head of the peloton.
Leif Hoste (Predictor - Lotto) at the front dishing out the pain in the crosswinds.
Maybe Hoste wasn't doing this just for McEwen? Hoste's GC captain Cadel Evans was one of the riders benefitting from what happened next.
Just like an elastic, the peloton suddenly snapped in the middle!
The peloton split in half, and in no time this gap opened up.
The riders in the back half couldn't react quick enough, and despite the Bouygues Télécom team mustering all their strength to get the race back together, the front peloton rode away into the distance. Who had been caugh out?
It's not Levi Leipheimer or Discovery's luckiest Tour. To Leipheimer's left is Astana's strong Kazakh Andrey Kashechkin.
Once again, Levi Leipheimer (Discovery) was at the wrong end of things. Denis Menchov (Rabobank), Andrey Kashechkin (Astana) and Michael Rogers (T-Mobile) also found themselves in the second peloton. What was thought to be an easy flat stage had suddenly turned into a nightmare for them.
Up at the front, Crédit Agricole were in charge as the sprinters entered Montpellier.
Sébastien Hinault (Crédit Agricole) leading out his sprinter Thor Hushovd.
The French team have been doing good lead-outs in most of the sprints so far, and today it finally paid off! Thor Hushovd powered his way to the stage win!
Thor Hushovd (Crédit Agricole) arrives first in Montpellier, beating Oscar Freire (Rabobank) and Tom Boonen (Quickstep - Innergetic).
The Norwegian took the victory, and with it the green jersey. The four top placed riders in that competition have now distanced Erik Zabel (Milram) a bit. The German is 29 points behind the leading Hushovd. It now looks like a four-horse race between Hushovd, Boonen, Hunter and last year's winner McEwen.
Exactly four minutes behind Thor Hushovd, came the second peloton with Leipheimer and Menchov.
A resigned bunch of riders crossing the finishing line four minutes after the main group.
The top spots in the general classification are unchanged, but from 16th and downwards, we get an unexpected twist. Several strong contenders are now miles away from any potential podium place. And Alberto Contador in the yellow jersey is now the undisputed leader of the Discovery team. With Denis Menchov way back in the standings, it also looks like Rabobank have to switch allegiance towards their Danish climber Michael Rasmussen.

Not only the GC, but the battle for green is getting pretty interesting as well
Btw, podium fail = la Vuelta podium, which got stuck in the middle of some metal fences, let's hope nobody's injuried (the small profile is also wrong btw )

Whoops, forgot that I called the Canterbury profile "11" after I first uploaded a wrong version of it
Despite the Vuelta logos and the fence, this podium is actually one of the more decent ones in this Tour. Usually they're hidden behind verandas, or have a tree planted on top of it. I planned to crop away the Vuelta logo, but I must have forgotten.

Stage 12 [IMG-r]https://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/profil12.gif[/IMG-r]
Montpellier - Castres
178.5 km
Friday 20 July
Today was another hot day that started from Montpellier, capital of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, and another transitional stage as the Tour headed inland from the Mediterranean coast to the textile town of Castres. Although the terrain was attractive for the attackers, the leaders and their teams would have to be particularly attentive in order to favour a sprint at the finish line. Because, the day before the Tour’s great time trial, it was probably out of the question to let anybody take the slightest advantage.
Seeking revenge for the sprint loss against Stefan Schumacher in Marseille two days ago, Kurt Asle Arvesen (Team CSC) again went out on the attack in search for that coveted Tour de France stage win. Eight riders came with him, including Jérôme Pineau (Bouygues Télécom), of course.
Kurt Asle Arvesen (Team CSC) was again part of the breakaway. Here he was in the wheels of Staf Scheirlinckx (Cofidis) and Jérôme Pineau (Bouygues Télécom), with Simon Gerrans (Ag2r) behind him.
There was absolutely no chance for the breakaway today. All the sprinters' teams were eager to bring it back together, as the big weekend that's coming up is devoid of sprint-friendly road stages. On the road towards Castres, Ludovic Turpin (Ag2r) decided that enough was enough, and abandoned the Tour. A slight blow for Christophe Moreau ahead of the upcoming Pyrenées. We're now down to 183 riders in the race.
Liquigas' Michael Albasini was the last escapee to be caught today, after he had tried a cheeky solo move. With no crosswinds to speak of, this stage was heading for a straight-forward mass sprint, albeit with some slightly tired legs after the 2nd category climb.
Showing no signs of being tired, Tom Boonen (Quickstep - Innergetic) finally got his positioning right today. And when he was at the front in sight of the finish line, there was absolutely no stopping him. He surged away in dominant fashion!
Boonen showed the other sprinters a clean pair of heels.
Neither Thor Hushovd (Crédit Agricole) in the green jersey, nor Robbie McEwen (Predictor - Lotto), with two stage wins so far, could do anything with the Belgian superstar. Boonen's and Quickstep's second victory of the 2007 Tour de France was a fact!
A happy Tommeke!
Despite Boonen winning the stage miles ahead of his competitors, Thor Hushovd (Crédit Agricole), who finished 2nd, keeps the green jersey. Those two have now established a good lead in that competition. What yesterday still looked like a battle between four men, is now probably just a two-horse race.

Wow, Tommeke seems to have gone quite early and remained with a good gap ahead, really strong performance by him. But let come the TTs and Pyrenees!
Btw, who won this stage in real life again?

Not to mention that there were big splits in the crosswinds in the real 2007 Montpellier stage

Also, David Millar was in the doomed breakaway on the Montpellier stage
I actually can't believe how realistic these transition stages have turned out to be. But I'm still carrying a slightly disappointed feeling after the horrible Galibier-Briancon stage. Hopefully that will disappear completely with a great time trial stage. I'm about to play it now, just had to make some leader's jerseys skinsuits

I didn't know Boonen was known in other countries as Tommeke
I hope he gets the green in the end!

You'll have to be killed for one more day, I'm afraid
The TT stage is bugged. It crashes because of three sprints along the course, as the game can only handle two.
I'm trying to get hold of an updated stage, or get a new one, as lluuiiggii said he might re-do it.
If a stage doesn't show up tomorrow, I'll just switch the Albi stage with another, hopefully similar time trial. Anyway, the story WILL continue tomorrow
