I won't be paying too much attention to the Vuelta this year, there is something going on in London at the same time....
Anyway, I like the mountain stages they are good, the downside are there are a lot of these days where nothing will happen until the final few km's. I don't give a damn how long the length of a stage is, I just want stages that will be exciting to watch. If thats over 200km, then fine. If not, thats fine too.
It'll be a good race I think.

It's rather old news, but I don't think it's been posted here, apparently, RCS is considering putting the finish line in MSR closer to the Poggio, so the final bit of flat is shorter (returning to Via Roma or Corso Cavallotti seem good options for this), and they're studying as well as including a new climb (rather small, if it's Bastiera as they are considering) between the capi and the Cipressa.

I thought the Via Roma was no longer suited for a cycling race finish ?
Bring it back. |

Vuelta Andalucia 2012 :
Stage 1, San Fernando - San Fernando (ITT), 6 km
Stage 2, Zahara De Los Atunes - Benalmádena, 198 km
Stage 3, Málaga - Alto Santuario Ntra. Sra. De Aracali (Lucena), 151 km
Stage 4, Montemayor - Las Gabias, 157 km
Stage 5, Cruzcampo (Jaén) - La Guardia de Jaén, 136 km
Nice looking route, hopefully it will be more interesting than last year where prologue decided GC.

Well actually Tour has the most climbing in all of GT's this year. Giro has the toughest, but a bit less.

Yes, but if you put two of there in stages like Annonay is easy...

Col d'Eze time trial, I like it Just hope there's enough action before it, stage 5 seems like a good place for it.

It's an improvement from last year no doubt, although you'd think Mende is the only col they have in the Massif Central...

2012 Amstel Gold Race cut the distance between the penultimate climb, the Keutenberg, and the finish on the Cauberg by more than 2 km.
