@all-Thanks, I'm sure David will bounce back from this uncharacteristic result, and maybe contend for the GC. Charteau is also here and is in slightly better for and has higher stats so its possible he will become leader now as David was mostly only leader for the fact that he's a much better TTer than Charteau but we'll see how it goes.
Also problem with PCM AI, when racing with really weak start fields lets say 72 would be a high stat a rider with 71 in most stats would still be allowed into the breakaway.

Major PCM problems currently.
I probably wont continue this for a month or two just cause I have more motivation to play as other teams and for sure with the 1998 db and 2005 db when that comes out (assuming I even fix my PCM problem), but this is not dead. Think of it more as on hold, because I'm sure I'll come back to it like I did with Ryder Hesjedal until I was unable to have both games on my PC.

Tour of Japan Stage 2
My Plan:Today we have the first hilly course, of the tour. Its a little early to be attacking, so my goal is to stay in the leading group, or at the least stay with the GC favourites like Kiserlovski, Herrada and Schumacher.
Today was the first real stage of the race, after yesterday's TT, so today we, as a team wanted to show the rest of the teams, that we're here for a battle. I found the pace we set, to be very high, and we never let up even on the steep slope's in Nara, but after a couple of km's we toned it down to allow a break to get free.
During the middle of the stage, during a steep descent, Pichot crashed hard, but that wasn't the worst of his worries as a Verandas-Willems rider was heading straight for his "family jewels". Luckily for him the Verandas rider swerved away to avoid him at the last second.
With the BOTD caught, the peloton really accelerated. About 10km to go and I was fighting to stay in contact with the lead group, but I packed away a nice energy gel in my pouch and ate it. I felt much better, and ended with the group. Arashiro was again our highest placed rider, while Astana the clear favourites, won the stage with their top rider Robert Kiserlovski the Croatian. Arashiro 22nd.

Yeah, story is back! Not a good sign for the next stages that David struggled, but he'll show his strength soon, I'm pretty sure

I almost felt bad for Pichot until he magically didn't get hit
I hope David can get on track soon before the season is over.

Tour of Japan Stage 3
My Plan: Today is a very hilly circuit, and I want to try and attack. I think getting in a break, but not contributing very much could be a good plan, because if the break doesn't work I can just drop back to the peloton.
Early into the stage, I made a strong attack. I slowed to wait and collect a couple other riders to join me, but they just attacked right by me, so I had to follow.
Now with only 20km left, yeah boring middle part of the stage, I made another move, as at the time I thought it would work out, but my fellow 11 breakaway riders all caught back up to me, for another 7km.
10km to go and the peloton catches me. I'm happy that I could atleast be the last rider to be caught for the day, but I had no energy to contest for the sprint.
In the sprint the two clear cut favourites for the overall at this point, De Waele and Kiserlovski both speed away from the rest of them. De Waele with the slight win.
Stage:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Bert De Waele | Landbouwkrediet | 4h12'37 | 2 | Robert Kiserlovski | Pro Team Astana | s.t. | 3 | Luca Ascani | D'Angelo & Antenucci-Nippo | + 12 | 4 | Glen Alan Chadwick | PureBlack Racing | s.t. | 5 | Pasquale Muto | Miche - Guerciotti | s.t. | 6 | Lars Petter Nordhaug | Sky ProCycling | s.t. | 7 | Marek Rutkiewicz | CCC Polsat Polkowice | s.t. | 8 | José Herrada | Caja Rural | s.t. | 9 | Constantino Zaballa | Miche - Guerciotti | s.t. | 10 | Chris Froome | Sky ProCycling | s.t. | ... | 49 | David Veilleux | Team Europcar | s.t. |
GC:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Bert De Waele | Landbouwkrediet | 8h08'13 | 2 | Johannes Fröhlinger | Skil - Shimano | + 9 | 3 | Yukiya Arashiro | Team Europcar | + 11 | 4 | Sébastien Delfosse | Landbouwkrediet | s.t. | 5 | Vincent Jérôme | Team Europcar | s.t. | 6 | Bobbie Traksel | Landbouwkrediet | + 12 | 7 | Robert Kiserlovski | Pro Team Astana | + 13 | 8 | Rubens Bertogliati | Team Type 1 | + 15 | 9 | Glen Alan Chadwick | PureBlack Racing | + 16 | 10 | Chris Froome | Sky ProCycling | s.t. | ... | 38 | David Veilleux | Team Europcar | + 30 |
____________________________________
Note:
From now on I will play on patch 1.0.3.0 as I was testing it out and the AI is much better. You can actually attack on mountains and hilly stages, and the sprints are still just as bad if not a little better. All the GC riders attack on mountains and its just much more fun and exciting in my opinion.

Nice try by David.
What are the things 1.0.4.1 is supposed to fix compared to 1.0.3.0? Hopefully it is indeed better

Yeah it was a great move
And yeah I've tried a couple stages already and they all play out better, and its possible to attack. Still haven't done a flat stage yet though.

Tour of Japan Stage 4
My Plan: After yesterdays long day in the break, today I will want to rest and not lose any time. Not only because I'm tired but also because the climb up Mount Fuji is tommorow and I want to be ready for that.
With an attack in the final 3km Froome and Kiserlovski broke away from everyone else and got themselves a 30 second gap. In the sprint the peloton caught back a few seconds limiting any time lose that would have happened. Froome wins.
Here I am crossing the line, safely within the peloton. I was tired today, or else I would have tried to stay near the front.
Stage:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Chris Froome | Sky ProCycling | 4h10'45 | 2 | Robert Kiserlovski | Pro Team Astana | s.t. | 3 | Marek Rutkiewicz | CCC Polsat Polkowice | s.t. | 4 | Gorazd Stangelj | Pro Team Astana | s.t. | 5 | Josep Jufré | Pro Team Astana | s.t. | 6 | Pasquale Muto | Miche - Guerciotti | s.t. | 7 | Bert De Waele | Landbouwkrediet | s.t. | 8 | José Herrada | Caja Rural | s.t. | 9 | Charles Wegelius | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | s.t. | 10 | Bobbie Traksel | Landbouwkrediet | s.t. | ... | 27 | David Veilleux | Team Europcar | s.t. |
GC:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Bert De Waele | Landbouwkrediet | 12h18'58 | 2 | Johannes Fröhlinger | Skil - Shimano | + 9 | 3 | Yukiya Arashiro | Team Europcar | + 11 | 4 | Sébastien Delfosse | Landbouwkrediet | s.t. | 5 | Bobbie Traksel | Landbouwkrediet | + 12 | 6 | Robert Kiserlovski | Pro Team Astana | + 13 | 7 | Rubens Bertogliati | Team Type 1 | + 15 | 8 | Chris Froome | Sky ProCycling | + 16 | 9 | Josep Jufré | Pro Team Astana | s.t. | 10 | Glen Alan Chadwick | PureBlack Racing | s.t. | ... | 35 | David Veilleux | Team Europcar | + 30 |

And after reading thru my SpiderTech story I almost wonder why I quit it. I wish I hadn't but at the same time, I really love this story.

Tour of Japan Stage 5
My Plan: With todays unique course, I want to get to the front very early on. If I have the strength to attack I will but as a team we also want to help Arashiro, as he needs to please his home crowd. It would be nice for him to get a stage win, but today for him atleast the goal is to lose as little time as possible.
There we are setting off, with Fuji looming. We dont climb all the way up though. We just have to be careful for the rivets in the road as bikes cant handle them as well as cars.
The first few kilometres were spent fighting for a place at the front. As the climb got progressively steeper, I tried my luck at an attack. I actually made a gap of 2 minutes at one point, but the timing must have been off a little, as Kiserlovski was with me 2kms later.
In the sprint Kiserlovksi had the speed to pass me and the other 5 favourites including Jufre and Schumacher, and I was dead tired, losing places left and right.
I crossed the line after what seemed like an eternity, with the last 2 km's having an average gradient of 18% and the last 300m with 21%. I was pleased with my results, moving in to the top 10.
Stage:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Robert Kiserlovski | Pro Team Astana | 47'32 | 2 | Josep Jufré | Pro Team Astana | + 42 | 3 | Bert De Waele | Landbouwkrediet | s.t. | 4 | Johannes Fröhlinger | Skil - Shimano | s.t. | 5 | Glen Alan Chadwick | PureBlack Racing | s.t. | 6 | Charles Wegelius | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | + 57 | 7 | David Veilleux | Team Europcar | + 1'22 | 8 | Stefan Schumacher | Miche - Guerciotti | + 1'30 | 9 | Marek Rutkiewicz | CCC Polsat Polkowice | s.t. | 10 | Chris Froome | Sky ProCycling | s.t. |
GC:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Robert Kiserlovski | Pro Team Astana | 13h06'43 | 2 | Bert De Waele | Landbouwkrediet | + 29 | 3 | Johannes Fröhlinger | Skil - Shimano | + 38 | 4 | Josep Jufré | Pro Team Astana | + 45 | 5 | Glen Alan Chadwick | PureBlack Racing | s.t. | 6 | Charles Wegelius | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | + 1'09 | 7 | Chris Froome | Sky ProCycling | + 1'33 | 8 | Luca Ascani | D'Angelo & Antenucci-Nippo | + 1'34 | 9 | Stefan Schumacher | Miche - Guerciotti | s.t. | 10 | David Veilleux | Team Europcar | + 1'39 |

Great day for Veilleux even if you lost some positions in the end.
For Arashiro it was just too hard.
Hope you can stay in the top 10 now. |

Wait, this isn't a TT? A 11 km road stage? Lol, always thought it was a TT =P
Indeed, nice result for David. I like the fact that if you zoom in the first pic, you can see the finish line, and it's not even on half the mountain top =P

@Roturn-Yeah, for a second, I thought David had the win with a 2 minute gap, but it wasn't meant to be.
@lluuiiggii & Alakagom- Glad you like the pic of Fuji. I wanted to make it look like it was towering above the riders, and I'm very happy with the result.
And about the stage being a RR instead of a TT, quote from SN in his stages topic:
SportingNonsense wrote:
The Fuji stage is actually a road race this year though - the Tour of Japan organisers changed it from a time trial for the 2010 edition.
Thanks everyone for the responses, I'm a little low on motivation right now, but I'm also already planning ahead to tranfer season and the 2012 season.
