Bad luck for you but hopefully you will gain enough time with Martin and maybe even Monfort to overtake Moreno. |

During the Vuelta, there were also two new one day classics in Canada! I think we´ve got some nice results there

Thank you roturn! I agree with you..those are great results if you consider that our team is totally exhausted. There are only the World Championships left and after that the season is over for us. By the way..I didn´t take the German team as you might think. I took Team USA at the beginning of this story. Pity...as I would like to become ITT WC with Tony Martin |

@Omt78, thanks a lot
Ähhm..I think there´s nothing to say anymore ...
After many good times were already set, Cesar Veloso came with a great time, too. He beat really good time trialists like Wiggins, L.L Sanchez and Klöden. 37´19
Maxime Monfort´s mission was to get back into the Top 10. His time was just amazing when you consider his long season. He couldn´t beat Veloso but he was able to get over a minute to Moreno. Unfortunately he missed the overall Top 10 because of 3 seconds. 37´24
Our great signing Levi Leipheimer wasn´t in his best shape after a great Tour de France. At least he set another amazing time today which brought him the 6th overall position as Mosquera was the biggest looser again. In two days he lost his third place to a bad 8th in the end. New best time by Leipheimer. 36´43
Tondo was a big surprise in this year´s La Vuelta with his great 5th overall position. And he was able to defend this position in front of Leipheimer but Levi´s time was too strong for him today but still a nice result, finishing only 10 seconds behind the American. 36´53
Cobo was another surprise and with a great time trial he was able to stay on an amazing 4th overall position in the end. 37´33
Also a great Vuelta by Pellizotti after he already won the Giro with ease but this time Tony Martin was stronger than him. Nice time trial by him and congrats to the podium in the overall. 37´29
And now: The big final!
Well, it couldn´t be more exciting! Tony Martin´s day form was good but nothing special. Sanchez was full of motivation after he got the red jersey yesterday. And exactly this motivation could we see at the first checkpoint. 20 seconds in front of Tony Martin! That was an incredible time as he destroyed Leipheimer´s time in this part of the stage. But let´s going on..Second checkpoint: Sanchez is still 20 in front of Tony Martin! Noo, we´re loosing the Vuelta right now! Tony was still full of energy when the last part began and maybe this was the final key today. Sanchez crossed the finish line with a fantastic time but he lost many seconds in the last kilometres. So he even missed Leipheimer´s time by 1 second. Of course Tony Martin had already finished his time trial. And then we saw it! Tony Martin was faster than Sanchez..22 seconds faster which means he actually won La Vuelta a Espana 2010! Yeeees! What an exciting final...

Sanchez did really well in the timetrial. Closer than I expected actually.
But congrats to the win in La Vuelta.
Pity that Monfort missed the top 10, too close. |
