It`s becoming a very close decision between Martin and Sanchez. Hope you can stay in front. Is there another ITT where you can get 1min to him?

Yes, the 20th stage is a ITT

Good luck in the next stages. I hope Martin can win overall.

Hope you can maintain your jersey, even though it looks hard. But I believe in you!! Smile

Batista15
Thanks a lot guys. Good to hear, you believe in me Smile

Well, the Pandera stage won't be that hard on your team and Navacerrada isn't that tough, so there's still hope (and a TT!)

So after the queen stage yesterday, we´re continuing with another mountain arrival. I think this one isn´t that hard but still a nice possibility to gain some seconds on some contenders. I don´t think that Martin has a real chance to win this stage but that´s not our goal. The stage win should go to an excellent climber like Pellizotti or Mosquera. Hopefully we can defend the jersey successfully

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/2-49.jpg
The first serious move on the last climb came by Franco Pellizotti with almost 19 kilometres to go! He was the first one reaching the break where some famous riders were participating today. Such as Mollema, Daniel Martin or Fabain Wegmann

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/3-48.jpg
The first one, going after Pellizotti was Mosquera, another big favourite for the stage win today. It seemed that those two climbers are in their own league

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/4-47.jpg
Wiggins and Leipheimer tried to counter these attacks but it didn´t look like they were able to stay with them. Pity that especially Leipheimer is in such a bad shape

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/5-38.jpg
Just a few moments later, Samuel Sanchez made an early attack, too. We didn´t think that he would counter those attacks but he did! And I have to be honest..we were in trouble because this was too fast for us. Xavier Tondo wasn´t that surprised as he went after his compatriot

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/6-26.jpg
So Tony Martin had to do something with more than 13 kilometres to go. When Rodriguez started a nice attack, Tony decided to counter that one. Monfort couldn´t follow anymore after he did a great job again, just like Tejay Van Garderen, who´s riding a fantastic Vuelta so far

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/7-23.jpg
Well, the leading group was far in front! Pellizotti and Mosquera were just too strong for Sanchez, Martin and Co. They had a nice gap to them so it was for sure that one of them will take this stage with ease

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/8-18.jpg
Almost 2 minutes behind them was Tony Martin. He was able to reach Sanchez after a long and strong attack. Tondo, Leipheimer, Fuglsang and Rodriguez were also in this group

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/9-15.jpg
But Tony Martin had big problems to stay with Sanchez and Co because they were incredible slow! I don´t know if they were already exhausted as especially Sanchez made an early attack..maybe too early? Tony had no problem to get a big gap to them..what are they doing behind? Are they playing poker or what? Come on this is the Vuelta!

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/10-11.jpg
Well, while Martin made his attack, Pellizotti had no chance to stay with Mosquera as the Spaniard was extremely strong on the last kilometres

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/11-9.jpg
Congrats to Mosquera. This stage win is absolutely deserved..amazing move and a great solo ride in the end by him..but what´s happening behind him?

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/12-8.jpg
This is just crazy! Pellizotti was down while he was sprinting for the second position. But why? Tony Martin was really fast in the end but he hadn´t any chance to pass him because the gap was just too big! Incredible stage final with a lucky end for Tony Martin and us! Sanchez lost unbelievable 1 minute and 22 seconds to Tony

Good stage from Martin! If he even can gain time on Sánchez at the mountains... Nobody will steal him his leader jersey anymore Smile

Yay!! Go martin!! "What are they doing behind? Are they playing poker or what?"

Really a great stage for Martin, not only gaining time on almost everybody but Mosquera and even stealing 2nd on the final km!!

Thanks a lot guys for the comments! After a short break, I want to continue today with the 15th stage

After a couple of hard stages with mountain arrivals, we´re back in the valley. The terrain today is quite flat with a smal hill 30 kilometres before the stage ends. It might be a stage for sprinters but I´m also sure that some pure sprinters will have some problems

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/2-50.jpg
After Andre Greipel wasn´t really lucky in the first sprints, we decided to send him in today´s breakaway. He wasn´t the only famous rider there. The group was really strong with Arvesen, Hermans, Champion, Van Avermaet, Rohregger, Knees and Garate. Especially Milram with two good riders was in a nice situation. The group did a great job. And when they passed the small uphill section, Greipel was still in front but some riders couldn´t stay there anymore. The pack wasn´t able to catch them today but that´s great for us as we´ve send the strongest sprinter by far

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/3-49.jpg
With only 5 kilometres to go, Van Avermaet, Willems, Garate and Rohregger had no chance to stay with Hermans and Greipel. Hermans made a high pace at the front and Greipel´s decision taking his wheel was probably the best one

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/4-48.jpg
Greipel had no problems to stay with Hermans and it was for sure that Hermans won´t have much power left after the last kilometres. Hopefully that´s the first stage win for Greipel

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/5-39.jpg
He had no problem to pass Hermans. He deserves this stage win very much after some unlucky results for him! Hermans lost 26 seconds in the end

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/Columbia/6-27.jpg
Rohregger managed to sprint on the podium today while the pack came with more than 6 minutes behind them. Great stage for Greipel and HTC

Strange stage. Greipel attacks on a flat stage, taking the win out of the break.
Good choice to attack with him.

I wasn´t sure if he would stay in the pack on the hilly section..so I´ve sent him into this group

That was very smart move...great win.
