It's official no helicopters in the air, so only fixed camera images today. Crazy weather ruins the Giro.
Cycling isn't a sport, it's a passion.

I'm praying we'll get to see more than the last couple of hundred metres. This could potentially be an awesome climb, so it would be so sad to miss it.
Pietropolli should normally win this easily.

I think that it is essentially confirmed that there are only finishing pictures today. Anyone else thinking of last year's Lombardia?
In the meantime from what I can get from Twitter the break is looking good with still over 7 minutes.

Pietropolli doesn't really seem like a bad-weather rider and Paolini showed he can handle the cold in the classics.
But Sky and Vini are apparently chasing a bit wtih the gap coming down to 7 minutes with 40 km to go.
Plus no live images as all helicopters will stay on the ground. Official

They will do first 3 km of Galibier after Valloire

Frustrating to finally have the possibility to watch a stage, and then nothing...

Well, this just ruined my weekend.

On the other hand, climbing is one of two things Paolini can't do - along with long time trials. Same goes for Colbrelli, as far as I'm concerned.
Not sure about Trentin, though. Could be his day. Nevertheless, I'm going with Pietropolli. He's by far the best climber in the group.

Trentin is not a such good climber; but he can become very good in the classics

Finally a Saturday, not busy in the morning, and this happens.

Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

He had some crashes earlier in the Giro so could be hindered by that plus can't really find any good climbing performances from him these last couple of years.
Would like to see Lampre take a stage win though.
Don't know about Trentin's climbing. He might suprise us.
We'll see! (No we won't)

The helicopters are where the signals go from the moto's, so no helicopters means no images

They need the plane to collect the images from the motor cameres. But planes nor helicopter can't fly due to bad weather
