@ jph - Depends on what you are looking to spend, but that seems ok. Wouldn't go to PC World but rather dig around Amazon for similar specs and the price will drop. Also look around supermarkets online stores because they often have some surprisingly good deals (especially if you/parents have like a clubcard or nectar car or similar)
Thanks for the advice. Prefer to buy from a shop for ease of return if any issues, but then if it's much cheaper online I'd probably take the risk. Will have a look around, any recommendations for other laptops to look at around that price or cheaper? |

So I came across a full list of country codes on the PCM.daily DB, i.e. codes for the flags.

I don't feel like making a thread or adding a post to an existing one, but can I just say that I FRICKING HATE THE FRESHNESS SYSTEM IN PCM14!!!
It MIGHT make a tiny bit of sense for a WT team that really focuses on a few main targets. But it ruins the experience as a CT team that has to perform constantly throughout the season to have a chance of promoting and has a few longer periods of no races at all...
At least make this shit optional next edition. It might be realistic, but I wanna have fun with this game and not smash my laptop at the next wall because my riders start a race with 2/3 of their bars just because Cyanide thinks it's funny.

@jph: you want a laptop? first of all, TMM is right, that you should look out in smaller stores, but you wont get much cheaper than that(if it showed me the right laptop on my phone)
but the laptop i saw has several problems you need to know:
only 2gb of DDR3L RAM...which is not much but also slow.
only 1MB cache
shiny(i hope its the opposite of matte) display, which will cause problems with too much sunlight...
no CD or DVD reader...
If you dont care avout all of this, its ok, but you should keep that in mind. Also maybe buy a used one. You could get more performance for the same price. Normally I would send you some links, but since my phone doesnt want to send anything, I didnt send any link. just watch out for those points:
matte display
CD or DVD slot
Numpad
4GB DDR3 RAM
at least a dual core CPU(Intel)
500GB HDD
USB 2.0(at least)
not more than 15.6" large
Windows 7(if possible) 8.1 has still problems with some programs on our university f.e.

Link is a bit weird - the first one that shows up for me is the wrong one, I was looking at the Lenovo Z50. Definitely has a CD and DVD reader, but not sure on the other points. I'll do a bit more research tomorrow. Thanks for the help |

Apple rant incoming, you have been warned!
Spoiler What the f*ck is up with the Apple watch! A $350, at cheapest, add-on to you $400 iPhone. Holy mother of god we've hit the f*cking Apple nexus point where they can now litteraly sell you anything if it has the letter "i" in front of it.
Never before have i seen such a mind numbingly idiotic product, except this time Apple has been beaten to the punch by a range of Android based products. So they can't even claim to be leading the idiot brigade this time, and are actually jumping on someone elses gravy-train.
And of course the android devices are better! Massively cheaper, higher quality and don't require a $400 piece of tech to work. I cannot fathom the point of the iWatch if you need an iPhone in your pocket for it to work. Litteraly every single function the iWatch could do can already be done by the iPhone that is quite litteraly 4inches away.
Don't have an iPhone? Well then your iWatch is a $350 watch than needs charging once-a-day (don't even get me started on the battery life of this f*cking "watch"  and will be obsolete in 6months.
I cannot think of another actual watch that needs charging once-a-day (oh look i got started on the battery life). A watch should be useable 24hrs a day 365days a year for a decade. That's the whole point of a watch! Let alone the fact everyone has a phone with a clock on it already, that is litteraly 4 goddamn inches from your idiotic iWatch bullsh*t.
You know what's even better? iWatch 2 will launch in ~November and cost another $350. That's $700, plus the $400 for an iPhone ($1100) except you'll need the iPhone 8 to use the iWatch2 and that's gonna be $600 ($1300 total). I see you banged you arm on a wall and now the screen is cracked on your iWatch2, well we can't actually fix that and your warantee ran out as soon you took it out the box.
