Bad Kessiakoff has smaller injuries, bad also that Farrar couldn't get a nice result here. Good luck for the next stage =)

Napolitano won, funny. Smile

And too bad about Kessiakoff. That's just bad luck. :/

Thanks all for the comments. Unfortunately Kessiakoff is harder injured and will be handicaped for the next few stages. At least Vansummeren will be in form again for MSR.

Paris Nice - Stage 5
Ambert - Valence
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/5-1.jpg
Although it`s officially a hilly stage it will be hard to fet time gaps here to the other favourites as the climbs aren`t steep enough and in the end a longer descent is coming. The only problem could be the narrow roads and the heavy rain today.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/5-2.jpg
Several riders attacked today. Most of them are between 5 and 15min back.
Zingle (Quick), Rabon (Vacansoleil), Lemoine (Saur), Viganò (Sky), Arrieta (Ag2r), Bono (Lampre), Antón (Euskaltel), Fröhlinger (NetApp), Oss (Liquigas), Van Winden (Rabobank) and Galimzyanov (Katusha).

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/5-3.jpg
The peloton is lead is Movistar for Riblon and HTC. Will there be attacks today to get Riblon out of his jersey?

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/5-4.jpg
Several riders crashed today on the wet descents. Also Christophe Riblon in the yellow jersey. But luckily he is able to stay in the peloton without any injuries. Just a short shock for him.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/5-5.jpg
And here we go again. The next leader on the asphalt. LL Sanchez crashed on the last descent. Maybe we should have a talk with our mechanics.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/5-6.jpg
Due to his crash he felt back in the 2nd big group. Also Haussler and especially Van Der Velde are in this one. The young Dutch fought hard today to stay in the group to keep his great overall position.
Sanchez makes a high pace no to reunion the groups again.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/5-7.jpg
After 10km of chasing he was successful with just 3km to go Wink Great effort by him. Also Van Der Velde is back again.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/5-8.jpg
I was a bit late with the finish picture so this one must be enough.
Chavanel wins ahead of Breschel and Leipheimer.
With S.Sanchez and Rolland two puncheurs lost contact to the first group and felt back in the overall ranking.
Luckily LL Sanchez is just lightly injured with a small handicap on the next stages but probably better than his teammates.

Bad day for Garmin.

Damn, WTF is happening. Almost every race one of your riders falls, really bad luck. If not that Sanchez would had good chances of being in Top5 or podium and taking some bonus seconds, but at least you didn't loose any, BIG good luck for next stages.

Indeed. Must be the new Cervelo bikes Wink
The Felt bikes worked much better last year.
As the handicap is just lightly I hope for some good results to improve.

Tirreno Adriatico - Stage 2
Sessa Aurunca - Venafro
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Tirreno/2-1.jpg
The 2nd stage is another flat sprinter stage. As Farrar isn`t in top form yet (71) we don`t know what we can expect by him. Most other sprinters are having their first season peak with MSR coming soon.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Tirreno/2-2.jpg
Really bad weather in Italy today. A bigger group with an attack.
Most known are Minard (Cofidis), Petacchi (Omega) and Portal (Ag2r).

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Tirreno/2-3.jpg
Leopard, HTC and Lampre are working in the peloton. Can Cavendish win today or is it again Napolitano?

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Tirreno/2-4.jpg
None of them. It`s Hutarovich taking the win. Cavendish accelerated too late and finished 2nd ahead of Ponzi.
Farrar is definitely not able to challenge them, so we might go for a breakaway the next time.
Kessiakoff again finished a few minutes behind.

Bad Farrar won't be able to produce good results. The problem is the others are nearing top form for MSR. Good luck in the next stages (and no more falls).

baia
You should talk to lluuiiggii about that medicin manWink ..looks like it worked for Rio..
Pity Farrar can´t do better for now..

roturn
Indeed I need a new medicin man Wink

Paris Nice - Stage 6
Montelimar - Salon de Provence
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/6-1.jpg
Luckily it`s a flat stage, so Sanchez can recover from his injury to attack on the next 2 days, which will be very hard again.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/6-2.jpg
6 riders with an early attack. With Hunter we got one Garmin rider here.
Ongarato (Vacansoleil), Gérard (Ag2r), Valentin (FDJ), Kondrut (Farnese) and Voss are the others.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/6-3.jpg
20km later the group became bigger. Molmy (Cofidis), Mol (Vacansoleil), Mørkøv (Rabobank), Pichot (Europcar), Arvesen (Sky), Hulsman (Quick) and Castroviejo (Euskaltel) are the new riders. The group is quite strong now and might have chances as none of them has ambitions in the overall.
Hunter is the strongest sprinter then Molmy and Pichot are following.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/6-4.jpg
Movistar isn`t doing very much behind so the advance is quite fast on 7min with just 60km to go. Looks good for the group now.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/6-5.jpg
Arvesen, Castroviejo and Hulsmann with an attack on the final 10km as they must get rid of the sprinters to have a chance for the stage win.
But they can`t create a gap.
Meanwhile Morkov falls back with a puncture. Bad timing for the Dane.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/6-6.jpg
Molmy wins the sprint ahead of Voss and Gerard.
Unfortunately Hunter tried to get Hulsmann`s wheel as he looked well positioned and also Pichot`s train but obviously this was the wrong decision. This was a good chance for a stage win and we missed it. ;(
Also Haussler couldn`t get a nice result in the sprint of the peloton. Our results in March aren`t that good so far, especially not in the sprints.

Thanks Tsmoha. Hope so, too. The domination just stopped with March. Just the two breakaways and especially Van Der Velde`s performance is great so far.

@ baia: I think my riders just need another win to get some trust again Wink

Tirreno Adriatico - Stage 3
Venafro - Tivoli
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Tirreno/3-1.jpg
This stage is a mix of a hilly stage and a stage with a possible sprint finish. As Farrar isn`t in form yet, we will try to get into the break. Otherwise Maaskant might be our man for the sprint.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Tirreno/3-2.jpg
Although Bobridge tried everything this morning, all groups around him were caught again. So the first successful group was without a Garmin rider.
Hermans (RadioShack) is a possible Tirreno winner in this group. Van De Walle (Omega), Ulissi (Lampre), Beuret (HTC), Pietropolli (Acqua), Gadret (Ag2r), Ista (Cofidis), Kostyuk (Ceramica) and Ricci Bitti (Farnese) build this group.

Next to HTC also Garmin with Christian Meier is doing the pace. We don`t want the same situation than in Paris Nice with Riblon and Vanendert as Hesjedal is still in the race for a good result.

With 20km to go some riders try it with an attack. The first was Cancellara but he is followed by Pozzato and Ginanni. After getting caught the next attacks. And again Cancellara initiated it. Cataldo follows this time. But again without success. It will end with a sprint of the big peloton.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Tirreno/3-5.jpg
Bennati wins todays stage ahead of Ginanni and Cancellara, who seems to be very strong for the next two harder stages. Our riders finished in the same group but missed the top 10.

When i saw the top10 overall i got scared,but it´s all ok when i saw the spoiler..Grin
Let´s go for the win..

lluuiiggii
Ah, just outside Top 10! =( GL for next stages.

roturn
Thanks. The stage wasn`t hard enough for a bad result. But also too hard for a top 10 Wink
Next two stages are hilly and Sanchez is fit again. So I hope he can still gain a bit time although it will be hard as it`S always going downhill in the end.

Paris Nice - Stage 7
Aubagne - Sainte-Maxime
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/7-1.png
The stage is much more hilly than yesterday but still with a lot of descents. So it will be hard to attack successful. Not the best route for Sanchez actually as he would need a top finish or a shorter descent after the last climb.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/7-2.png
11 riders in the break of the day. Peter Stetina is one of them. He is already 9min back and no danger for Riblon.
R.Feillu (Europcar), Frapporti (Farnese), Lemoine (Saur), El Fares (Ag2r), Finetto (Liquigas), Marcato (Vacansoleil), Kennaugh (Sky), Marycz (Leopard), Pliuschin (Katusha) and Keukeleire (Cofidis) are the others. So there are several similar riders with average puncheur abilities in there. Could be an interesting ride.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/7-3.png
So far Movistar and Garmin had always a rider in the successful groups. That`s the main reason why these two teams lead the team ranking. And also today both teams have a rider in it. So it`s again HTC and a bit Omega who is working in the peloton.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/7-4.png
With 80km to go Kennaugh and Finetto crash in the break. That`s annoying for them as they already had much more space as in the big peloton, where also happen some crashes. Luckily no Garmin rider so far.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/03%20March/Paris%20Nice/7-5.png
On the last hill it`s Kennaugh and El Fares with a small gap to the other 9 riders. The Brit seems to be without bigger problems after his crash. Stetina struggled a lot on the last hill as he isn`t the best hilly rider.

Meanwhile there are just a very few attacks in the peloton. Especially Vinokourov tried it a few times. Sanchez without problems but also without a good opportunity to attack.
But also good news for our team. Van Der Velde is still riding great. With Vansummeren`s help, who feels a bit better today, he is able to survive the last climb, although he had very big problems. Justone more climbing kilometer and he would have get dropped.
But so he can hold his top5. Hope he can repeat this effort tomorrow, too.

Kennaugh wins the sprint easily ahead of El Fares. Of course Stetina couldn`t do very wood in the 2nd group as he was the worst sprinter by far. So he finished last and won`t be seen in the top10. What a pity.

Even Steegmans survived the climbs and wins the sprint of the peloton ahead of Breschel and Sanchez. Van Der Velde finished in the last third of this group.

Many crashes happened on the final 10km. Also many favourites lost time caused by these. With Gerdemann a top 10 rider broke his knee and will miss until mid of May. Very bad luck for him.
Also F Schleck, S Sanchez, Anton, Leipheimer, Knees, Terpstra and Moerenhout were involved.
As the Dutch also lost some time, Van Der Velde even improved on the 4th.

Van Der Velde still there, very good....would be great if Sánchez get top10..

PCM has realized that even on extreme and with the AI cheating they won't beat you - now they are appealing for crashes! At least, finally a Garmin rider not involved. Smile
