These super steep climbs make a good spectacle but most of the time don't end up be decisive in any real way

We need those powermeters banned, I'd like to see Froome judge an effort not do something that was pre-determined beforehand...

Especially these that are flat-25%ramp-flat-25% ramp. Like the mtf when Schleck won last year

Yep I always thought Cadel Evans had a horrible style on the bike but Froome makes his style look beautiful in comparison

Yep the bits that flatten off gives you a chance to carry momentum into the next steep ramp

Gesink looks horrible when climbing! Froome too, yes.
And who made the first move? Contador again.
As much as I don't like him, his racing is superb.
Doesn't flail about like Gesink when climbing, doesn't has his head up his powermeters butt. Prolly knows that his attacks don't stick like a few years ago but nevertheless still attacks.
Oh and I am so happy for Frank. Really deserved that win.
Being held down by strange BMC team tactics and orders.
Lots of bad luck in his IAM years. Hope he gets some more races
where he's the captain at AG2R than back at BMC. |

First time this Vuelta Contador has been looking great; attacking, recovering, managing his effort. Glad to see that - it seemed he was undercooked going in and his prepration was pretty bad (crashes obviously didn't help), but he has very good recovery. Im pretty sure he wins on Aitana - Quintana and Contador have gotten buddies lately so if the opportunity present itself, I don't doubt Quintana would want Contador to win.
Pretty ridiculous how much better those 4 were than the rest. I think Chaves will do well in the ITT, but he will have a hard time getting on the podium, unfortunately... altho, I must admit, seeing Quintana above Contador AND Froome on the podium in Madrid would be great. That would mean Rasmussen RAUS, Quintana in! |

Chaves was really working hard for his countryman. Luckily Froome did a great effort to close the gap.

What?....
There is basically zero drafting on a climb such as this - you'd surely know that unless your are straight up trolling. Chaves attempted to gap Contador and Froome since he would need that time in order to finishing on the podium. Weird post - don't let your hate cloud your judgement. |

They did the climb at around 20 minutes(probably a bit less for the quickest), which means at around 16kph. Drafting still is a thing at these speeds.

So you stick to your argument that Chaves was helping Quintana out, a rider who so far has been the best uphill and has a 3.37 minutes advantage? |
