Unlike Armstrong in 2004, the fact that samples are kept for 8 years after the Olympics didn't prevent Sky boys from participating. Let's just hope time will tell if there was something to tell.
Wiggins has been technically perfect today, it's just surprising that he doesn't look tired. But Froome third with a bad position, bad trajectories, etc. and not even looking tired either ?
What about gene doping, do you think it will be possible to reveal later from actual samples?I think they dont have the way to test it now?

No idea. We can only speculate on what will be possible in the next 8 years. |

That tends to happen when riders are performing (way) above expected. |

I love to see the expression "get a life" on the Internet, because usually the one that uses it is the one that needs to "get a life"

Why, new suspicious performances by Froome?

Probably. I mean he has been in great shape since the Dauphne. If at the end of the Vuelta he still maintains this level, it will be suspicious. |

Because there will be a break in some tiring comments about Anti-Sky or Obvious Cheaters. |

Cumulative CQ-points in his first 10 pro seasons: 3246
CQ-points in 2012: 2687...and counting
First 10 years of his career: Never wins an important time trial
11th year of his career: Never loses one
Yep, I totally believe this. Clearly it's just coincidence that he improves like this the moment Team Sky hire a notorious doping doctor on their staff.

There's also the small little fact that he had never done a long 50 km/h ITT before last year, while now all of them are there or thereabouts. This is caused by his rivals not being in top form, apparently.

I should mention this: a few weeks ago somebody made a photoshop in the CN forum of a bingo card with all of Armstrong's excuses like "I train harder", and "heart as big as a plate!".
He called it "Wiggo's bingo card" and circled all the excuses Wiggins has used this year. All were circled except Armstrong's favorite excuse: "Cadence"
And now Wiggins shows us that he does read the CN forum
https://m.guardian...pe=article
In a brief two paragraph quote, he uses the word "Cadence" 6 times

So the key to good cadence is slow in the TT's and fast in the mountains?

Here's one more
You can either give up at that point as most people do and say, ‘he’s on drugs or it’s impossible to close the gap,’ or you say, ‘this guy is an incredible athlete and let’s look at what he’s doing.’ The main thing we’ve changed is the cadence.”

So I will say I noticed that after the TTs, Phinney laying on the ground, Martin laying on the ground, Cancellara laying on the ground. I didn't see what Rodgers did after, Froome looked comfortable, and Wiggens leans on his bike, and eventually decides to go rest against a barricade.
Not saying I know anything, but anyone that argues Lance did something wrong, has to also start arguing that there is something going on at team Sky.

There's no truth on that cadence matter. What's true for Wiggins is not true for Grabsch, or Contador. Nor for me, neither for you (probably).
It depends on what muscles you have, and how you've developed them.
Then it's a bit like a car engine, do you need more torque, or more power ? In what range should you be to have the better possibility to react, etc.
Maybe Wiggins wasn't at his optimal cadence before, but now is, although we would need facts and numbers to back it up.
Armstrong also said he had increased his cadence in the mountains to justify his suddenly found climbing skills. Maybe the cadence helped, but we all know what it was about. Ullrich probably used more or less the same stuff as Armstrong, but pedalled at a lower pace. |
