Kinda embarassing
Well, time to bounce back. At least we kept the race lead for another day..

Great job by Schmid, awesome to get that 5th place on stage 10! Fantastic win by Amezawa, congrats to ember - looks like your training choices weren't too bad (and confirms to me that going some kind of hybrid training path with Schmid could do wonders)
Good to see Stüssi keeping up with the first group, given his low hill stat he's always at risk of missing out. A shame to see the race leader (!!!) not in the front group, though, no clue if Haig was already in energy save mode for tomorrow...
What's really weird though is seeing us lead 3 classifications right now, with points, U25 and now teams as well... We'll get none of them in the end, but the "half-time standings" really look great for us!
Thanks for the report to Abhi, great stuff so far!

Not a stage I saw Ahlstrand contending in anyway so this isn't a disappointment

Ouch, bad luck for Haig. That's quite a gift to Dombrowski.
Congrats ember! Mighty sprint by Amezawa

Wow, impressive sprint by Amezawa! Obviously very happy with that
Took it as a sure thing he went far too early, seeing him and Hirt chase the late attackers, and then have him lead under the red kite. Having him hold on, and then to believe in it with 200 meters left, was very enjoyable
Very curious to see if this affects Amezawa's role for the upcoming two mountain stages (11 and 13). Hope he will give it his best, as I'm excited to see what is possible GC wise. Looking at the riders ahead of him in the standings, I'm fancying his chances to climb inside the top 10.
And that was a very bad stage for Haig, surprisingly caught out when most weren't. A blow for Amayism too, as this must make Dombrowski the favourite to get pink back already on stage 11. |

I have so many perfectly equipped riders for such a breakaway, and then the AI decides to throw my two puncheurs, who have no chance…
I guess we’ll come away with very limited points here.

Shame to miss out on the stage win, but the KoM is an ultimate goal for this race. Nice to see Vosekalns going for it and hopefully we can keep it all the way to the end.

Congrats to Xero!
A good stage for us. Worried a bit about the explosiveness needed for the short sort of mountain stage, and what that would mean for a diesel like Galta compared to guys like Hirt. But he made it through well an had Gregaard to support him until fairly late on, both of which are good.
Through another test and once again third behind Dombro and Haig, which is ideal for us. Nice to gain some time on Hirt and a couple of others, although it's a shame to gain on Rodrigues because of his puncture. Terrible luck. I have to admit I'm not sure I've ever seen that in game before, where a guy punctures going uphill in the final. Luckily he was strong enough to limit his losses and it was only very bad, rather than catastrophic.
The breakaway guys are starting to jump Gregaard and Eg for the minor placings now, which was inevitable. But they have a lot of work to do for Galta, s I'm a-ok with that.
Thanks for the report!

One more day in pink, another should follow (if we don't mess it up again).
Guess it will be tough then, but maybe Haig can finish ahead of Dombrowski for once (in the mountains)
Congrats, Jandal!

A bad day for us overall.
Yes, we made the break and get a handful of points out of it, but we didn't send our best riders into it and thus lost out on a lot more on offer, particularly some KoM points.
And furthermore, the three 77-78mo guys who stayed in the peloton instead all finished well below their potential and lost massive time again.
I just hope this means that from now on, we get those big boys joining the breaks since any sort of fluke GC result is inexplicably well out of the picture by now. They should all be well-rested in comparison.
Merry Christmas regardless!

Nice to see Arensman grabbing his chance. A good performance in the break and a good jump in the GC, so very happy with that. I hope for more of the same!

Wow, I was mentally composing yet another melodramatic "why doesn't Fouche actually ride to his stats against similar opposition" post when he got dropped but he proved me all wrong, what a comeback ride to take his first ever career win and our first ever Giro stage win, love it! I hoped with his stats he could be this kind of Smith/Vosekalns kind of guy and hopefully this is the start of a great career of that kind.
Great spirit from Bennett and surprised how quickly that gap disappeared, but so long as he didn't expend too much energy a good day for him after some horrible ones recently to get back into the Top 10.

I add myself to the list of managers not happy about breakaway selections. Batistella is cool but he needed to be active in the first week, on a stage like this he is wasted in the break if nobody else makes the group. Hoping for an improvement, otherwise our scoring here will be quite limitted.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Feels like a typical early GT mountain breakaway, where the the proper climber breakaway riders aren't allowed freedom. Very happy to see us get AHJ up the road in such a scenario, that was the best we could hope for, I think. He did the most from the opportunity, just not quite strong enough to challenge for the win.
Also nice to see Amezawa be aggressive behind. He ended up loosing time, which isn't ideal, but I'll rather have it this way than a passive stage where he follows the selected group to the line. Good to see him have a go at it! |

We are picking up minor points here and there so that's nice. Hopefully we have one or two strong stage results left in us, because we're certainly not a factor in the GC. If we can put more riders in the breakaway on stages like these, then that would probably boost our chances.
Congrats to Xero, both wildcard teams are doing very well

I can smell what Jams is cooking here - flat breaks haven't been successful yet but he's hungry for Giro stage win #2

Solid podium finish for Groves, can't complain with a deserved stage winner.
