I don't want to deepen covid facts, there's too much pessimism imo. I don't agree to call it a farce as I saw already a greater GT than TdF without mountain finish except Etna. atm coronavirus eliminated first and second last pretenders in GC (Yates was already out of contention), everyone is in the position that deserve thanks what he did so far.
Let's hope to have some great actions in next stages.

today stage was absolutely fantastic, breakaway escaped thanks a real powerful action, well raced and well deserved by Sagan. really bad for Fuglsang losing time in that way...super Pozzovivo stronger than bad luck

RCS said they were not part of the protective bubble, nor did they stay in the team hotels, contrary to van Emden’s words. Will see who’s right but I have my doubts on RCS’s statement, natural thing to say when you want to protect your already unprotected race.
Just out of curiosity, when will the next round of tests occur? |

Wasn't there supposed to be tests yesterday and today for Sunweb riders? |

De Gendt has already claimed that he wants to abandon and that the riders are holding discussions about continuing the race. Absolute shambles what is happening. |

You'd think there would be more common sense in a country that got hit so hard by the first wave of Covid 19.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

The farce isn`t about performance or anything. The Giro is and always was great to follow.
But the way it is run is the farce at a high during a pandemic including all attempts to make it as secure as possible, which clearly fails big time.
Not necessarily for GC contenders only but for the health of all involved.
In my opinion during a pandemic like this, an event of that size is all but understandable, when not having a better plan how to reduce the danger of infections. |

Narvaez won after Padun had a flat tire. Had forgotten about his existence after so many injuries, good to see Padun back with relevance. Ecuador has a special relationship with the Giro. Almeida a step closer to keeping the maglia until the time trial. If this gets called off before the final week, is there a limit of stages to be raced to declare someone a winner? |

Riders are maybe 5% of people involved in a such big event, and if someone doesn't feel protected is free to withdraw, everyone inside the organization is a professional, and many teams/riders are working with professionality.
If an event like this will stop a lot of people lose weeks of job.
In Italy there are tounsends of people going to work in big cities by busses or trains, and doesn't even live in a bubble like them, immagine if everything should stop, apparently a lookdown 2.0
Jumbo Visma had their own cooking-bus, why Van Emden was complaining that there was too many people at hotel's breakfast buffet? He could join with his facilities...

Today's route (G.F. Novecolli one) is wonderfull for a one-day classic...quite meaningless in a GT, anyway a lot of riders may have put more fatigue in their legs, I'm expecting someone fade in Piancavallo stage on sunday.
was a pity for Padun, he deserved his chances to play

EU ACREDITO!!!
Hope for an exciting race tomorrow. Deceuninck and Sunweb have two of the most consistent blocks in the race but I can’t see it be controlled by anyone. Squalo+Pozzo festival maybe? |

Fully expect that, given Pozzo's current shape, he'll be going full on attack on the climb. He has too, this is his best ever chance at a Giro podium. |

Thrilled to see McNulty putting in such a great performance. Nibali disappointing. Excited for the mountains.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

So, last day of the 2nd week, with a MTF.
Sunweb with numbers at the head of the group. It's about time someone makes a move on the pink jersey. Should we expect something today from the rest of the contenders?
