Thanks for the reports.
Grateful for the stage win and wearing the leader's jersey, but wish the end result was a little better.

Right. So ending up with a pretty decent race afterall. Not quite the GC result we had hoped for, but definately not bad enough to call it a catastrophy. 5th could have been achieved by Lecuisinier riding up to level and then losing a bit in the TT to Dekker, so getting 5th is OK.
Clement Koretzky managed to not drop further in the GC, so achieving 16th here, is a good bonus. Apart from Chris Juul-Jensen I can't spot a rider higher in the GC that he should normally beat on a route like this, despite him doing better last season.
I had hoped for a bit more by Jerome Coppel, as his prologue result was crap, and thus not getting quite the points (lead, points, stagewin) that I expected, and crashing in the hilly stage also made him drop more than necessary so he didn't get a top 40 in the GC. Had he gotten that we would have also secured a 3rd in the Team GC aswell as him getting 3rd (shared) in the points competition).
We get some nice points from the race though with 2 stagewins, shared win in the KOM, 2nd in U25 and points competition.
We gambled a lot with the PTHC this season, and this time we got away with a decent result.

Congrats yet again, dev. One may know how to feel about such results steadily floating in
Good to see Coppel winning the TT. With Velits going past Morton in the Giro (sorry about that, SotD), the guys at least brought some good points for Festina eventually.
Thanks for some great reports on some crazy stages.
Thanks mate
Yeah, I don't really mind Moser doing well, as long as we perform better than them elsewhere . We expect them to beat our ass in the Giro, but hopefully it should be out only poor GC. I don't think Lecuisinier can level out the losses in the Vuelta, but probably Spilak can during the Tour.
If my maths are correct we have currently lost 150 points to Moser in this season which includes Paris-Roubaix, where both my captains crashed. I exped that number to grow to ~500, but then we have Liechtenstein to claw back a bit, and then probably leveling out during the Amstel Gold Race. So if we can get outside the month with a loss of 300-400 points to Moser it will have been a good one for us. That would leave us around 1000 points behind in the overall ranking, which will be difficult to catch, but not impossible.

Great race from Preidler, knew he would loose a lot in the TT, but getting the (split) KoM and top 10 is really great from him. To bad he could not get a stage win as well.
Congrats to Hugo Boss, big win for Slagter

Climbing and time trialing have never been our thing, but we had a good race. Thanks for all the reports!

Another big step down to PCT done. Tenorio easily confirmed his reputation to be one of the worst riders in terms of wage/pts ratio, again beaten by Lecuisinier or Yates (!!). Degenkolb couldn´t even beat 81 sprinter. And Izagirre? Always first to be dropped together with Coppel in harder stages Dreadful race for us.
Thanks Aquarius for your great work and congratz to all happy managers.

Sub-par race for us, there's no other way to put it. You can't just aim for PT and then just cruise your way to the end of a key race.
Thanks anyways for the nice reports Aquarius and congrats to dev of course.

Got to be happy with some decent stage results and eventual top 10 overall after that horrendous hill stage nearly knocked everyone over. A good TT from Beñat to finish off a strange race. Congrats dev on the win, that's huge for Slagter! And to SotD for Coppel.
Also, thanks for the reports along the way.

Thanks for the reports Aquarius.
It was a shame Vesuvio couldn't ride here, as Goos did so well last year, but no guarantee he would have repeated that. Instead Eritel were here, but nothing really worked out. 9th in a sprint was nice to see for Tewelde, while Reguigui, Teklehaimanot and Debesay all had reasonable stages at one point - particularly Debesay on the mental hill stage - but then also shipped lots of time on other stages, so no better than Top 50 was possible. Expected more from Teklehaimanot, but did expect this to be one of the worst races of the season for the team - and so it proved.

What the hell happened in this race?
I mean... Sicard getting dropped with more than 100 km to go on stage 5? I realize he managed to get back, but still. Absurd. And the prologue? Viennet looked like an amateur - and got sent home later in the race before the final TT...
Other than the stage win, this race turned out to be a disaster for Orange. |

Really enjoyed this race Aquarius, thanks for reporting it!
Yates was a star for us once again - if you'd told me he'd finish 3rd here I would have laughed my head off. He seems to have the perfect support stats to outperform what would be expected from him, looking at the season so far.
Admittedly I'm annoyed Slagter overperformed too, as it's not good for our prospects of staying up. But then I helped develop him, so I'm also quite happy to see him doing well - congrats dev! |

Well that was another race where we looked out of our depth at a higher level! This is going to be a long season and I think it will not end nicely...

If you fight against Hugo Boss at the end of the season you definitely won't relegate

At the start of the season I thought they'd be down at the bottom with us, ok? |
