It will be a mess to sort out if they are going to disqualify people. A lot of the riders did not have enough time to brake and had to keep going. It's dangerous to cross but it's also dangerous if you have to brake when you're 5-10 metres from the track and risk ending up on the track if you don't have sufficient time to brake. |

Ouch, looked bad. Thomas with lots of bad luck - mechanical, crash.

How many would get DQed? What does the rules say?
Everyone who crossed when the lights went red should be taken out.
Were the lights red when the first rider in the peloton crossed by any chance? |

Not bad luck. When you crash in virtually every monument its not bad luck anymore.

Not sure how the peloton headed to the traintracks. I think that many riders didn't see the lights and when you go 50 kph, you can't just suddenly stop. That would make a real mass crash. Still better than hit by a train though.

If they don't then why have the rules in place at all? Fair that the riderrs at the front might be given a pass but plenty of riders had the option to stop and didn't so kick them out!
