PCT/CT Rankings Update #9, 10, 11, etc
Atlantius
Quite sad to see three teams based off smaller regions likely to go Sad

Will be cool to see you in CT though

Ahhhh damn 7 points?!?! Grin

Will be hard to catch Metinvest simply because they have Beijing in addition to Japan even though they don't have a lot of scoring potential there, with Repsol it's a head-to head fight about who scores better in Japan.
From behind, I don't think neither Magna nor Amex will score too much in China and I hope the same goes for them+Kazzinc in Japan.

(btw it sucks that I'm in a direct fight with 3 inactive teams when it's still about a season goal for us...)

I obviously brought my best puncheur team to Japan Cup but often enough we failed to make any significant points even with those guys...I hope our depth will pay off in the lower positions, and I would cry of laughter if Herklotz brings us the decisive points! Pfft

Cool to end the season with such a close fight for 7th Grin Go Monfort!

It's going to be very close for 4th place. It'll mostly come down to Ulissi vs Di Maggio in Beijing.

Thank goodness I had a nice cushion back to 7th. October has been terrible for us so far.

Really great fight we got into prior to last races of the calendar. Grin

Of course Meiji and Puma as our closest rivals in top10 fight had to score enormous points in Faso, while we finished with minor points despite Hoffman looking good in the first half o f the race and Tanovitchii being so active.

I can hardly see us catching Meiji and we need to hold Puma, 5 more race days in beijing could help us. Strong competion.but Rabon should be able to bring some points, most likely for GC, as in HC race you can get nice points even outside top10. In Japan, it is Rabon leading again, so it is basically him vs. Puma. Pfft

Anyway, we are looking to finish 11th or 12th most likely, is that a near miss with a top10 goal, i am not sure how this works. Smile

Thanks for the update and feel sorry for Boeing, it looks over now for them.
I'll be back

There really is a chance we get La Vie Claire with the race days in hand, and the fact we've sent really strong teams to the final races, Beijing and Japan. I do think they will slightly outscore us in Japan though.

Yeah, you effectively need 20 pprd in Beijing and to outscore us in Japan, both of which are possible. As long as I get my top 10 goal I'm happy though, and I've sent as strong a squad as I can to Japan.

Thanks for this quick update, SN and Rider!

Huge season coming to an end soon. Bobridge still with Beijing and Japan to come. Guess we will miss this season very soon, since PT will be one hell of a challenge Smile

Stevenag
Only thing needed to reach our goal is something like a triple victory in Japan. No problem.

FroomeDog99
Need to finish off strongly to ensure nobody can overtake us. A 127 point gap should be enough though, especially as we have Ben Nasser riding in all of our final seven racedays.

Miguel98
And down we go... It's pretty much confirmed now. It's been a good experience in the PCT.

But I have no idea how many years it will take for us to come back, especially because of having 0/5 goals completed, and with our main rider, Pedraza, declining.

Pedraza probably good enough to lead in CT for 1 season, but short term solution - biggest issue potentially his wage. Would be interesting to see what damage Granjel Cabrera would do to CT field (but again his wage may well be a major issue). A couple of your secondary riders could well be of interest to Nutresa during transfers, so expect some correspondance when the transfer window opens Wink. Then again these same riders may end up central to your plans if you intend to rebuild from the foundations up; will be watching your HQ for announcments!

We are officially down too. Only the Japan Cup left. It has been a difficult year. It's going to be hard job rebuilding this team and I am confident we won't bounce back at the first attempt.

Anyway, onto the Penultimate CT Rankings!

Tour of Utah was always going to be a critical race for the top of the division, especially as Bonsucro entered it just 30 points ahead of ONCE-Eroski. And although Arroyo did not win, he helped his team to cut the gap to just 14.

There's just one problem with that, and it is that they are no longer fighting for 1st place. A huge race for them, with two riders in the Top 6 plus Haedo's best sprint of the year, and they return to the top spot with just Zuri-Metzgete remaining!

Euskaltel move into 4th place, but charging into 5th place is Siam Cement! A supreme finish to the season for the division's stand out rider Vitor Rodrigues, and now the Thai team could have themselves an unlikely Top 5 finish. Risa-Ergon cannot stop them, but Vontobel on home soil could still return to the Top 5, where they have sat for pretty much the whole season until now.

Azteca outscored Bank of Ireland and Evonik to fix the order of those 3 teams, and they now must wait for TomTom and Sauber Petronas in Zurich, to see if they will hold onto a Top 10 position.

The bottom 11 sides all picked up points in Utah in the final scrap for their positions. Ameriabank are looking good for that final Top 20 position, while Eddie Stobart edge out a slightly larger gap to Alpina - and both could yet reach the Top 20.

Team Live Nation were unable to recover from opponent's gains at the Tour of America and must settle for the wooden spoon. For inspiration, they need look no further than the 2012 PCT season. Oz Cycling picked up the wooden spoon then, and look at them now - while 3rd bottom Cerne (now Prio-Porto) were able to promote in the following season.

Vitor Rodrigues has won 5 stage races this season, so he is surely the deserving individual champion. Jose Mendes is 2nd, but victory for Marcel Wyss on home roads would take that position away from him.

Eduard Alexander Beltran's fantastic Utah performance brings him up into the Top 5. Alongside fellow Colombian Marentes, and Czech Jaroslav Kulhavy, they are some of the surprise presences in this year's Top 10. A place which only Grega Bole can now deny them of.

Now as long as TTT and Sauber don't pull of the ride of the year in Zürich, that's our top ten goal secured! Grin

That awkward moment when there's a rider with more points than your entire team.

If anyone is to overtake Nutresa it would be season long contenders Bonsucro. Great to see teams going head-to-head for the title, either one will be very deserving. I'm a bit more of a fan of Nutresa so my hopes are for them to hold on.

Hard to talk about promotino races and i don't really see any relevant battles to that aspect. The fight for 5th ins very close and under "normal" circustances would be that fight exactly. I'd like to see Sauber take a Top10 finish as well.

Not much to say about the bottom end, except i'm sure they are all very happy to see the season concluding. Continuation will give them all a huge boost for next season.

Vitor Rodrigues has been hugely successful. He's a very good rider but even that lavel of success and consistency is surprising, an excellent aquisition.

5 stage races won! That's more than my team had in three years (we're at four, if i'm not mistaken - including a AI fucked up wildcard PT win in this FDB Eire Tour back in 2012)... Huge season for Rodrigues, wonder what's the ManGame record of individual GC-wins in a season? Just stage races Smile

Beltran also with a huge year, obviously.

5th?!? Awesome! Grin Cool
That's way higher up thatn I could have ever expected. However I expect Vontobel to pass us still with Zuri Metzgete.
Thanks for the update SN. Wink

Edit: Oh yeah Rodrigues outscoring 9 entire teams. Grin
I kind of fear his demands at the renewals now.

From what I remember we're looking at the Top 12 promoting? Should that be the case, you'd have to feel it's about right seeing how close together they are and the advantage 12th has over 13th. Nutresa look like they'll take the title from here, the real battle looks like Siam Cement vs Vontobel for 5th - Bonsucro should have the quality to hold off Once.
