Astana has no money? Come on. Vino wont let that guy away anymore after Giro |

Not as much as Sky can offer. Sky wants a Italian GC contender very badly.
They tought Cataldo was going to be the one With Cataldo (likely), EBH, JTL all leaving, there is a huggge offer coming ( already mate )

Quintana seems to be getting stronger. But can he win?
Yes! Biggest stages to come and the next TT is straight up a climb
Oh did not realize that. Thought that was flat TT.
But 3m is too big gap. But Quintana made up like 2 and half minute in TdF last year on Contador. And he was stronger than Froome in last week of TdF.
So maybe, just maybe he can make Uran eternal 2nd!! |

Do you need a GT contender from every country or something? Do they need to 100% their PCM collections? What is it?

The first 3 will be in nibbles TDF team aru will be their giro guy if nibbles does TDF again next year
So highly improbable they have more money then SKY

It's linked to Sky Italia. Very big market for Sky.

That was a really exciting stage to watch (proves the Giro is the best GT ), chapeau to Aru for taking the initiative whilst others were looking around at each other a bit and putting in a superb attack
Also nice to see Quintana gaining more time on Uran, praying that he can gain enough time to overtake him in the end

Evans is still the big card imo and hopefully were gonna see his insane strength when they hit more mountains
Like last year where he cracked in the Mountain Stages that were riden??? He only mange to stay in the Podium beacuse 1 Mountain Stage was canceled and another one was softpedaled IIRC otherwise he would have ended up in 5 or 6 place. Looks like some fanboys allready forgot last year Giro
I called it that Evans would start losing time as soon as they hit the Mountains now he will be lucky if he finish in the Top 5. |

Shh, don't jinx it.
Very promising from Quintana today, he seems to be improving rapidly.

He will obviously lose to Uran, Majka and Quintana, but 4th definitely isn't out of reach as it's not known if Aru keeps the same level through out the rest of the race, Pozzo had a very bad day today, which makes me skeptical and Kelderman just isn't that much stronger if stronger at all to bridge that gap. |

Evans can still finish on the podium, it was flat today with a big climb at the end so wouldn't surprise me if Evans can hang on in the bigger stages. Mind you it also wouldn't surprise if he completely fell to pieces. Uran rode well today, lost time only to Quintana (GC threat) without flat lining, easy to chase then go into the red and lose big time but he just held his own pace. Really looks like we are in for a great end to this race

Majka rode it cleverly today, again. He was really close to close the gap up to the Aru-Uran-Rolland group going into that tunnel, but Aru's attack crushed him. He might have gotten a mental crack there, because going into the tunnel he was right at Quintana's tail, and when he came out, the others were nowhere near him.
Oh well. I bet I have to stop saying that he will win the Giro, but my fanboy-gene is still telling me that he will do so. I hope that he will recover well for tuesday's humongous stage, and hopefully the weather will turn oout to be better than the forecasts tell.. Rafa hates the cold and snow.
How does Quintana do in bad weather? And what about Aru. Does anyone know that?

I have no idea about Aru, but IIRC Catalunya this year had quite bad weather. Quintana came 3rd or so there.
