Meersman?

Doubt it, but if so, Sagan, Matthews. All I can think of really.
Even if its flat, probably Sagan maybe Hushovd.

Having more well known riders in a race doesn't guarantee better racing in a slightest. Especially in a race that is not a GT or a prestigious old stage race.

The move to May had more to do with better weather = more access to mountain passes in the area = mountains, unlike before where it was just lumpy or hilly stages that was the best we saw.
People in America dont necessarily know all the top pro's anyway. Having a couple though will surely draw people, and then the locals love the Americans and they're bound to show up anyway.

It's nice to see that Andy has found a class of riders that are on his level. Someone he can feel equal to.

He was in a long break at the first USA Procycling challenge aswell iirc.
Can't recall any other race where he went in the break

Does his Galibier TDF stage win count as 'in the break'?

Not really, there was a long break that day inculding his teammates Monfort and Posthuma. Though Devenyns was probably worth more as Posthuma that day
Anyway, a shame Haedo gave up. Might have been Sagan's best competitor here. And would be cool to see him fighting against his brother

Yeah, the "youngster" Meersman performed well in the "Tour de France preparation race" Tour de Romandie...
