Thanks, Avin
I've had some time now and the next race was a prologue so I had time to do it! |

Driedaagse van West- Vlaanderen - Stage 1
A flat prologue, not too short. It's still pretty early in the season, and Paris - Nice is just around the corner. The start list includes some strong riders like Phinney, Barredo and others, but all in all, it's a start list where some real outsiders can do something, we believe.
I was lucky to start before it started raining! I took a fast start. When I reached the intermediate checkpoint, it started raining.
My finish could've been better, it was a bit longer than I'd anticipated it, but in the end, I did a good job. When I cross the finish line, I'm a provisional seventh, but at the end of the day, I will be 13th, pretty good, huh?
Today was a pretty cold day, and rainy. So I hope the next two days will be the same, it's my kind of weather. I also have the advantage of this being my region, I live here! This is my home turf and I hope to get myself noticed in this race.
Since the race is in our home region, I'm bunking with Jantje for the following days. I feels good to be together again, we haven't lived together since I left home. Though I have to say his house is a big mess. Nothing in his fridge but beer and cheese. Well, so to speak.
I had good legs this morning, and I felt this would be a great test to see how far I've evolved in time trialing. It's only this winter I had an immense training schedule for this kind of work, trying to make this my specialty.
I managed to stay extremely focused, and even though it had rained a bit before I started and the roads where slightly wet, I had a provisional first time at the intermediate checkpoint.
When I finished, I held the provisional first place! To my surprise, Phinney didn't manage to get under my time and I cash in my first professional victory in a very long time! It's really these kind of races that I have to get my wins out, time trials in smaller tours. Well, maybe with my improved time trialing I can start to mean something on a bigger level, too.
Jantje did great, too, finishing 13th. It's clear to see he has talent. Maybe even more than me...
Anyway, the result:

Avin Wargunnson: House maid, not a bad idea, actually maybe when he gets paid more later on
Jakstar22: Thanks.
Jesleyh: Thanks a lot, He's lucky with a very decent shape after a small illness! And, of course, he had the factor of riding his home country
sutty68: Thanks
andy222c: Indeed! Hope he can hold on to it!
PCM rulezz: I hope so, too
maxime86: Indeed
juszta: That's the plan
FreitasPCM: Thanks! |

Fantastic win!
I hate to be petty like this on your story, but I think you may still be mixing up your rider titles before their reports. This previous one said that Bart was reporting first, yet it was from Jan's perspective. For the second part of the report, this is reversed. Again, hate to be petty about something like this, and I may just be misunderstanding it, and I can edit this later if you want |

Pinktay3: It's never bad to point out such things. Though I believe there's no mistake in this one. Jan started and finished 13th, Bart won, I think the titles are correct Unless you mean an older report?
