Thanks! I'm also very curious what the market will be like and how far that free capspace will get me.

Hello MG!
I'm sorry for my inactivity the past six months. Things got very hectic and stressful so I had to get rid of all distractions.
Luckily everything is back to normal now and I'd love to stay part of this great game. After talking to roturn and SN, we've decided that Gazelle will continue in the ProTour.

Very much looking forward to seeing you all again in transfers and the 2018 race threads!

Gazelle 2018

Alright, the thread is ready for a new season. 2017 season overview was added to the team archive and below is our roster after renewals.

Biggest news for the upcoming transfers is that GT captain Madrazo is available. Swap or swap+cash deal prefered. It's not certain he'll leave the team, but if the right offer comes along we'll take it.

Same goes for Ginanni if we manage to sign a replacement puncheur. Our main target is Alexey Lutsenko.

Also worth noting is that among the riders leaving the team is Gazelle fan favorite Marco Minnard. We're sad to part ways and wish him all the best.

Just as he thought he knew who to spend his budget on, a wild Madrazo appeared Pfft

Some interesting riders there though!

Manager Mresuperstar spit his drink out and threw his computer in the street upon hearing the news that Madrazo could be available.

And so continues the trend of more big-name riders possibly being available. This window's shaping up to be a huuuuge game of musical chairs at this point.

Also, tell Ginanni we said hi Wink

Don't be so greedy, you have enough strava magic in your squad.

Since 2013 I've been making a season recap every year in this post. But somehow I never thought of also posting them in the HQ. So here's our 2018 season overview.

:: Acquisitions

Mike Teunissen
Denys Karnulin
Marc Potts
Louis Vervaeke
Manuele Boaro
Jacques Janse van Rensburg
Gabor Fejes

:: Departures

Marco Minnard
Kristjan Koren
Tom Veelers
Victor Campenaerts
Francis de Greef
Everson Camilo

:: Goals

Top 10 in PT - success (5th)
Win Amstel Gold Race - fail (6th)
Top 10 in Liege Bastogne Liege - fail (12th)
Top 10 in Giro di Lombardia - success (8th)
Stage win in Tour de France - fail (2nd)

:: Key Riders

Steven Kruijswijk (31) • Steven had a great year and showed how versatile he is by impressing in both Tour de France and Tour of Northern Europe. He managed to score a hefty 575 points, which is absolutely amazing for a rider on a 125k wage.
78 FL, 76 MO, 73 TT, 74 COB, 75 ACC, 79 FGT
575 points - 125k wage
Tanel Kangert (31) • Unsurprisingly Kangert was a key part of the team again. This season we did very well in Team Classifications, especially if there was a TTT and we could get our Kangert/Bibby engine involved.
75 FL, 75 MO, 77 HI, 77 TT
513 points - 140k wage
Ian Bibby (32) • Like Kangert, Bibby played an important role in our 'strong collective' approach to many tours. He scored a nice amount of points himself while helping others do the same.
77 MO, 76 HI, 77 TT
432 points - 200k wage
Jan Tratnik (27) • Officially he's a domestique for Ginanni, but this is the second season in a row where Jan Tratnik showed himself to be the master of sneaking himself onto the score sheet in hilly races. 207 points might not be huge, but for a helper who earns just 80k it's great.
73 MO, 77 HI, 75 RES, 70 ACC
207 points - 80k wage
Mike Teunissen (26) • After many years of watching Veelers get destroyed on the cobbles it was time to finally sign someone who could follow the big guns. Dutch talent Mike Teunissen joined the team and immediately lived up to our expectations.
76 FL, 77 STA, 81 COB
459 points - 220k wage

2019 Wages and Availability

Gazelle management are happy to report that this year's wage negotiations were successful. Only two riders leave the team as a free agent: Gretsch and Agudelo. We thank them for their contributions in previous years.

Due to some wage cuts we'll enter the upcoming transfer period with 21 riders and 460k left in the wage budget, which gives us some nice room to maneuver.

In order to bring more balance to the team, Gazelle has decided to sell two puncheurs during the coming transfer season.

26 year old Kazahk Roman Senyenov earns just 90k, is very strong in hilly terrain and has a decent finish. His most important attributes are 77 HI, 73 AC, 68 SP, 73 RES. During the 2017 season he managed to score 293 points in the ProTour.

27 year old Italian Andrea Zordan earns just 80k, is also very strong in hilly terrain and has a nice kick. Most important attributes: 77 HI, 74 AC, 65 SP, 72 RES

Some other riders might be available if the right offer comes in.

Well, if you'll look for a replacement for Ginanni, I'd have an idea. Pfft
