Valverde's the favourite, but i'm going to have a wild guess and say Voeckler will surprise everyone. Or Gerrans?

According to Eurosport (teletext), Andy Schleck pulled out of the race because he is feeling sick.
'Already yesterday, before the stage, Andy didn't feel good', sports director Alain Gallopin said in a statement. "He was able to finish the stage but that cost a lot of energy. This morning, Andy felt better, but in the bus he got stomach problems and high temperature agin.''
Schleck himself: 'I really wanted to try, but against sickness you cannot do a lot. I need to let my body recover from this. This is bad news, I wanted to perform well in Paris-Nice, but I'd better not jeopardise the rest of the season.' |

Break might make it to the finish I think. No real chase at the moment.

Movistar is just accelerating. Pretty sure Valverde want this one today. |

Yeah, but I still find it hard to see them closing down three minutes.
EDIT: And just as I say that, the gap drops to two minutes.
EDIT 2: Down to one minute now.

Yeah that has to be Valverde.
A huge acceleration from Gerrans, he is really in great form this season.

Meersman with another superb result. 3rd if I have seen right.
Except of Valverde the biggest favourites not in the top 10 I think. Monfort was well placed but haven`t seen anything by Leipheimer, Chavanel, Van Garderen or Wiggins.
1 Valverde (MOV) | 2 Gerrans (GEC) | 3 Meersman (LTB) | 4 Sanchez (RAB) | 5 Florencio (KAT) | 6 Capecchi (LIQ) | 7 Monfort (RNT) | 8 Hivert (SAU) | 9 Gavazzi (AST) | 10 Westra (VCD) |

Valverde is so pure class. So scary how good he is. And so early after his comeback. Impressive. |

Easier said then done but given a half decent position before the sprint to the line and Gerrans would've taken that by bike lengths. He made up a huge amount of ground in the last 100m to lose by all of half a wheel.

nice speed for Gerrans..close one.
What a hell is wrong with Taaramäe..yesterday he was in lead group after split..but could not keep up after 10km. Today just falling off from group again.
He is not riding some training race there. He was in great shape before Paris-Nice (Andalucia).
Illness inside last week probably is main reason for terrible riding.

What about tomorrow? Looks like another pretty hard finish.
Not as long as today's climb, but the last kilometer averages almost 8%. Maybe Valverde again? Should suit him perfectly once again.

Yeah, the race does look better each stage for Valverde. Another chance for some bonus seconds tomorrow, then Mende comes.. if things keep going right for him he could even be leading the race before the Col d'Eze comes.
