Plus I just read that even the sponsors didn`t know it.
Mercedes Benz for example has a contract until end of 2013. Now they get two more main sponsors and one of them is Nissan. So a 2nd automobile sponsor and opponent of Mercedes Benz.
Obviously someone forgot to think about the consequences of such a big fusion...
That happens if a rich man like Becca thinks he can do anything to have success. |

Remember what they did with Riis and Saxo last year? Karma.
Sorry, but that was also Riis fault. Every rider that left the team (apart from Cance) was not under contract for the next season. Riis should have, in fact, acted earlier!Riis might have gotten the schleck transfer from the media, but the other riders that left were talking to him. And Nygaard and Andersen (the only ones that actually worked for riis in the background before) were fired/left the team at least a year before the foundation of the team. So its not actually the same...

And to quote Kumazan the last time he linked to the Puerto documents:

This is rather incredible.
The riders (with the exception of perhaps 2 x Schleck and Cancellara) had not been informed, the directeur sportifs (including Kim Andersen!) had not been informed, and perhaps worst of all, the sponsors had not been informed - even though there's obviously a conflict of interests between Nissan and Mercedes. |

Maybe Mercedes will be happy if they are also in the team name.
RadioShack-Nissan-Trek-Mercedes Benz Pro Cycling Team doesn`t sound too bad.

Then they should include Leopard as well....RadioShack-Leopard-Nissan-Trek-Mercedes Benz Proffesional Cycling Team. And their shirts could have a picture of a Leopard riding a Mercedes and looking awesome. Perhaps with sunglasses on

And as Vroomen just pointed out - Becca says this:
De Marketing gëtt och vu Lëtzebuerg ausgemaach, net vun Austin am Texas.
(~ Marketing will be done in Luxembourg, not in Austin, Texas)
... and RadioShack/Bruyneel says this:
All marketing operations will be operated out of Austin, Texas by CSE Pro Cycling LLC.

If that means Bruyneel being out of the sport permanently, it would be fantastic news for clean cycling

And for attacking cycling. He's the one man who might make the Schlecks attack less...

Just watch the interview with Flavio Becca from yesterday on the luxembourgish TV.
He said that he just took the opportunity to contact the sponsors Radioshak and Nissan, as he heard that the owner of the WorldTour-Licence of the Radioshak-team, would not request a WorldTour-place for 2012.
Concerning the squad, he said that Leopard has at the moment 25 riders under contract, 5 of this contracts will end up this year, so there would be enough space for 10 new riders....

I can remember the Mollema unlucky flat tire in the Tour de Suisse this year, when Leopard immediately accelerated to avoid him coming back. With success.
Well, I have to say, Team Leopard were already pacing in front of the peloton before Mollema got a flat tire, there was no extra increase of the pace. I hope I can find a replay of that.

For crying out loud... I might just quit supporting cycling. We finally get a team in Luxemburg (with only 2 luxemburgian riders and a luxemburgian marketing manager) which sounded a bit fishy because of its consistency. And now they pull this Bullshit. If Bruyneel is right, that will be the biggest embaressment for luxembourgish cycling...
Anyways, What becca says is right translated mike, but its not the right statement. He said that the marketing will be done in luxemburg (as you pointed out) however he also said that it will be CSE Pro Cycling LLC who will do it. But as experience shows, if bruyneel wants something he gets it...

Doesn't look that much honest. It's a rather formal confession. |
