Once is bad luck, twice is really bad luck, three times is an issue with te team. I say you need to buy better riders

@gg and tsmoha: yep a greek tragedy my team is. Truly a Poulidor version of a team.
@TMM: As gg put implied, I already had the best riders this year, to no avail. I guess I'm going to ask SN to give me like 8 teams with 3 riders each. That'll show the others

New jersey presented
Preparations are underway for 2015, and as per usual, a new kit has been ordered. Given last year's astounding effort, we asked the famous shirtmaker aidanvn to sew up another one of his masterpieces, and here's the result:
Words are few to describe our appreciation for our designer's work. We can only hope we'll be sufficiently successful in order to make it justice.

Goals announced
1. Win Volta a Portugal
2. Win Tour of Ukraine
3. Top 5 Tour of South Africa
4. Top 5 Tour of Britain
5. Top 5 PCT Team Standings
Returning to PCT, Prio - Porto feels the need to have ambitious goals for a season where excelling in most races we target is imperative. All our goals are directed at stage races, which translates our hopes of having our boys shine in a continuous fashion, by collecting triumphs or leader jerseys.

Well, with Machado your team contains the biggest pre-transfers question mark in PCT for me, and I guess those goals show you're not really confident in committing to him over Costa (yet)...
Will be very interesting to follow how you handle this.

Will be competing with you in your home race for the win.
Not looking forward to that now :/ You're a big threat in stage races this season!

Actually it was a big question mark to me as well. These goals seemed ambitious yet sensible enough to make us competitive at the time, but I really didn't know what would come out of the renewals room.

Bibby probably isn't going to appreciate the company of Costa in this division at all. At least it sounds like a good job I picked last year to go pick a Bibby/Team goal in Portugal, and won't be racing there at all with Eritel this year!
Interesting to see if you can bounce back faster this time, and become the first team to promote to PT 3 times. That's both a good and bad record to have

Depending on my transfers we might see a lot I guess.
Costa in PCT is terrifying obviously. Could become one of the top scorers in the division I guess. Those goals look all possible for him.
As others I am highly surprised what you plan with Machado. Don`t really have in my mind right now if he was over 1mio last season. I suppose so.
Looking forward for a nice promotion rivalry of our two teams alongside some others obviously.
One thing is for sure though. In case I keep Luis Leon Sanchez Gil, he won`t be of any danger for your win goal Portugal and can`t win the race again due to the wrong HC band. |

@SN: Glad to know Bibby won't be competing there, I would hate to beat such a fine rider I guess I'm already one of the few to have relegated two times, and, more importantly, after two lucky promotions!
@gg: Same here. Having reported a few of Betancourt's races last year I'm definitely worried about his abilities
@Mre: Same as always, can't wait
@roturn: Indeed, Costa didn't seem suited for PT, but he should be great this year in PCT. Machado's wage was 1.4M€ last year. This year the salary cap is 2.5M€, which was quite intriguing for me before negotiations took place. In a few days you'll know the outcome I guess.
Like with Bibby I'm quite happy not to have LLS in contention for Volta a Portugal, but he too should be an outstanding asset in PCT. Don't sell him, unless Prio is the buying team!

Luckily, this year I decided not to put the Volta a Portugal as an objective...
Yet I feel sorry that it was not possible you continue in PT because I feel that we would have a lot to benefitting if this had happened. Still I hope it's possible to continue with our wave of Business

Renewals done, transfer status decided
Lots of yelling and shouting were heard last week at Prio-Porto's HQ, where renewals negotiations took place. A respectable amount of riders have left the building with an expression of absolute disgust, almost looking like they were insulted. However, the news are that everyone has been re-signed in the relegated team from northern Portugal.

Not everyone is here to stay though, as it's logic after a relegation. We're primarily looking to sell the following 3 riders:
Markus Fothen A former TdF winner. That's right the german stage racer has won the french GT, and despite behind past his prime he still has a lot to offer, whether it'd be as a 2nd tier leading role in PT, or as an absolute leader in lower divisions. Either way at a wage of 360k he should become a good asset for any team who's going to hire him.
José Martins and Samuel Caldeira This couple of sprinters have been with us a long time, but their time at Prio seems to be over. They form a powerful duo of leadouts and are even capable of snatching a win here or there in PCT. For CT teams they should provide a comfortable stream of points in sprint events, and at minimum wage, there aren't many more like them. Give us a call if they're of interest to you

Aww, Machado is on a HUGE wage. The same as Spilak. I know he will blast the PCT rankings, but one crash and he will be hugely overpaid. Fothen, Costa and Avellino are on nice wages though.

Well, if Machado doesn't win the individual standings though, something is messed up, so I think it's worth getting through this year until he's really useful in PT again.
I guess you won't be able to make any big moves coming in this time, but even that roster will be very hard to keep up with for us...
We need Ciolek outperforming Avelino by a lot, Kelderman staying with Costa as often as possible, Daniel outscoring Ferreira by a bit and Demare just getting enough points to keep the gap opened up between Machado and Nerz reasonable somehow.

I was wondering what you were going to do with Machado. I feel sorry for the other PCT teams if he does indeed stay in the division. I still have my eye on getting Costa back but at this point it looks like your content on keeping him and I don't blame you. Machado and Costa is a recipe for promotion right back to the PT.

I'll just treat all mountain stages as if he wasn't there.
It's gonna be like those national championships allowing foreign starters where the second or third rider to finish actually wins the NC.
