It's also worth considering that if Contador really wants to leave, there's not really much Riis can do about it. An unhappy Contador isn't going to help Saxo much anyway.
To be honest, I don't think I happy Contador does much either |

The silly thing is these budget numbers of 6-10 million are put in a whole new perspective when you hear Gareth Bale's transfer sum....
I mean, that's when you realize how little money really goes around in Cycling. On one hand it's sad, on the other hand it's good that the sport isn't as commerial as others.
For example I'm blessed with having three (!) publicly accessible cable TV channels broadcasting major races (Sporza, Eurosport, NOS). On the other hand, the football fans here need to pay a monthly subscription to FOX Sports just to see football on TV. |

Hey its not just Football... I remember 2-3 years back, the IRFU wanted to sign a deal with Sky Sports to broadcast all of Irelands international Rugby games, thus making them inaccessible for people without a sky sports package. If that came through, There would be no rugby on free TV whatsoever, since the clublevel is already exclusively in hand of Sky Sports. Luckily the Irish High Court (or was it the supreme Court) ruled it inacceptable as Irish TV would loose out on major annual Events like the 6 Nations or the World Cup (not annual but you get the gist), which are both broadcasted by the by the national broadcasting company in Ireland and are a big revenue for RTE...
(After that agreement was vetoed, the Rabo Pro12 also had to make some Games available on free TV. Serves them Right!)
Though, I think its only Belgium and the Netherlands where you have that many channels to atch cycling. THe reason why the budgets are so low in cycling also has to do with the fact that in many bigger markets (such as germany) there is only Eurosport broadcasting races, and any other channel is just reduced to a 1 minute segment as part of the news...

Kangert extends with Astana for 3 years. Beast this season.

Bonnet extends with FDJeux for 2 more seasons. So does Petit with Cofidis.
Gadret is still looking for a team. Will be neither Cofidis nor IAM. |

This. If he'd go to a WT team, it should have been either Cannondale or Lampre or Orica, this last one lacking a climber... |

Reynes, Van De Walle, De Greef, Bulgac and Bille leave the team. Probably more will follow. |

No, they don't. They are totally new in the world of cycling and have no clue about how to deal with the UCI rules |

The only thing I can conclude from this is that the Tour-spots are becoming very expensive at Lotto-Belisol.
Greipel and his train (Henderson, Roelandts, Sieberg) is a certitude and Van den Broeck, Monfort and Gallopin will also very likely go.
But who's going to take the remaining 2 places? Hansen, Bak, De Clerq or Vanendert? |

I thought De Clerq was on his way out the door
Edit: I got mixed up with De Greef, my mistake

This is the third team where that has been said. Please don't let this become another Jimmy Casper.
