Maybe he also think a rider like Malberti who won U23 in 1997 also is a huuuuuge talent... Cancellara never won U23 either, so Pate must be waaaaay better than Spartacus. |

Well played. A lot of people fell for the troll even though it was an obvious one
The preceding post is ISSO 9001 certified

I'm not really trolling. It is all true, and he hasn't really even had the chance to have people work for him. He does all of this on his own (except the Giro TTT). No, he hasn't won any races like Paris Nice (although he did podium in criterium international), but I did say most talented, not strongest. He's never had the chance to win these big races. If he were allowed to try, I think he probably could.
I guess I'm just saying he is one of the best team mates in cycling who still manages to get amazing results while always working for the team. He is grossly underestimated, and could probably unleash a vengeance if he lead the team in some races.
And really, you can't compare results in the Vuelta (Velits + Albasini) to results in the Tour and Giro, come on.

Yeah, he did podium the Critérium International, where he was beaten by Frantisek Rabon. His biggest win in his professional career is a Tour of Missouri stage, and you are comparing him to a guy who podiumed the Vuelta and a guy who top 10ed 3 times the Flèche Wallone and has several professional victories.
So, tell us, why your bias? Brother, cousin, neighbour?

If Danny was given the same opportunities, he would probably be capable of the same. And I would say his biggest win was the Giro TTT.
We may be from the same city, but that doesn't change the facts.
I think this thread has been spammed enough though, and I'm sorry for contributing to it

If he was good enough to get the results he would have gotten the opportunity. |

Remember how Lefévère didn't have room for Cavendish because he had 30 riders under contract?
Now he's told 2 riders with contracts that they can leave.
its official then, Cavendish --> OPQS

Is this a rather funny topic now?
To be on-topic a little, now it seems more likely with Cavendish to OPQS, it could be very good all-around team, with almost all cycling disciplines well covered (including cyclocross )
