Ireland comming back out of nowhere Anyway congrats to Macedonia, allthough i don't like eurovision songs winning these dsc's as the songs aren't original in my book...
I'm ok with Macedonia winning. Sort of dance-pop-ish but still kind of good (very similar to Of Monsters And Men, the first winners). Ireland from out of nowhere to the podium (do you think the NQ vote is too big, cause there's your proof ), great result for the Northern Irish/Scotish entry. Germany fading to 3rd but still a very good result. Least dance-pop podium so far makes me happy happy.
We climbed to 4th with out acoustic-dance-pop, and i am very happy with that result. I wonder if the full version would have done better or worse?.
How the hell did that AWFUL remix get 5th? This is nothing against dance-pop, but that remix was just awful and ruined a decent song. Real let down for Canada, perhaps it was too obvious or overplayed having been a huge song this summer? But then so was Heathens for England and they got Top10. So sad for Wheezer and the host nation to bring up the bottom of the table.

Maybe not everyone has the same music taste like you so Belgium still got points from people who actually liked the song?
Anyway I still think it's lame to compete with a eurovision song in this contest. It shows unoriginality. It just hurts me to see a eurovision song winning for the 3rd time now...
I can't believe we came this close considering how far back we were, to come within 2 points of the lead. Happy with being the runner up and though Macedonia wasn't a favorite of mine it wasn't my least favorite either. I quite liked Germany's as well to round out the podium. My only personal disappointment is Wales, which had a song that I quite liked but most people didn't. not very complex I suppose.
Dance-pop is the most popular type of music right now and that's the way it's gonna be for the foreseeable future I suppose but the results here today showed that that isn't universal. Everybody has different tastes in music and they vote based on them. Everybody can also contribute a song so in the end I don't think it's unfair at all. I voted based on what songs I liked the best, just as everyone else did. If they like dance-pop, all power to them. It does get repetitive for them to keep winning but that's the way the world works.
Maybe Eurovision songs shouldn't be allowed in the future as it kind of defeats the purpose of the competition as well, but I don't think it's a major issue and as an American it didn't affect the competition for me whatsoever.
Great contest, thanks to Ewan for making it happen!
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Have you got any other suggestions for Macedonia?

Fantastic result for Germany with the podium, my goal was only to reach the final so perfect stuff...congrats to Macedonia and Ireland!
I'm not sure yet if I will come back with Germany next seasons, cause I found some fantastic songs from Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Serbia, and I'm currently undecided if I change to one of these or stay with ...can't we make an exception for me participating with 5 non-eurovision & non-international songs with 5 different countries?

I guess the name "Lost Frequencies" recieved it a lot of points, cause the remix was really strange and not reall fitting to the real song (and I didn't like it but that's a personal opinion)...

It's also lame to compete against well-known songs...the fun thing is to find national "hidden gems" for their respective country and to try to place best with them, isn't it?
Have you got any other suggestions for Macedonia?
come on there are easy ones to find I'll search for you for a non eurovision one if you need one...
Least dance-pop podium so far makes me happy happy.
I guess DSC is the only place on daily I agree with TMM (and in talks about annoying persons)

I'm definitely with you, but still it's a bit hypocrite imo, participating with a famous name, especially with a country like Belgium, isn't very original either.
Back to my result, I'm quite happy with the 8th place for Estonia, I hoped for more though ofc. Especially the fifth place in the NQ voting makes me happy.
Despite its unoriginality its a really good winner, but in general a strong podium — if I remember my votes correctly, my 10 and 12 on the first two spots of the podium. I'm kinda sad for Switzerland, who would've deserved a better result in my opinion.
And thank you Ewan for running another really good and entertaining edition of the DSC, see you in Skopje!

Semi-Final 2
Ireland took the crown in the 2nd semi-final. They went on to finish 2nd in the final, winning the NQ vote.
I seem to have figured out another reason why we didn't get in - people think I'm joking Anyway, won't be Conchords next time, maybe a good song, maybe a terrible Kim Dotcom (yay nationality rules) or Max Key (though he gets enough coverage already) dance-pop song.
Spoiler
Maybe even, finally, Lorde Wait, I think I know a Lorde dance pop song...

Send Broods, Thomston or The Naked and Famous. They're not typical dance pop, good and not Lorde

Anything by TNAF would score very highly with me but if I had to pick one it would be Girls Like You, closely followed by I Kill Giants and the version of Bells from the One Temporary Escape concert/tour which I wish I could have seen live in person.
Welcome to the 8th Daily Song Contest which is set to be held in Macedonia's capital city, Skopje! After Daniel Kajmokski's victory in Ruse back in the Autumn edition, the party has moved to Macedonia for the 1st time. This season's theme is 'Forever.' which plays on the idea of the number 8 which is never ending. This edition also marks 2 years of the DSC running, so why not join in now, especially after a record-breaking DSC #7 in Ruse.
Does your song have what it takes to become a DSC anthem forever?
The Boris Trajkovski Arena will be the amphitheater of the whole DSC carnival for the next couple of weeks.
Selection Process & The Contest
This part is the same as usual, but for any newbies here's the low down: you have to choose a song which is affiliated to a country (it can stem out to grandparents), post it here, and then you are signed up! All you need to do then is watch the shows and vote for your favourites. You have until 1st December 2016 to sign up for the contest. Read below to find out more rules about the submissions.
Regarding the contest, we will have semi-finals, so the we will be running on the same format as the last edition. These will take place in the week building up to the Grand Final on Saturday 10th December. The semi-finals will split the competitors in 2, and then they will compete to make their way through to the final on Saturday (the amount of finalists is to be determined when the sign up is complete). However for the 8th edition, things are going to be mixed up a bit. The amount of direct qualifiers will be lowered in order to make way for the lower songs in the heat to compete in a Second Chance Round which will consist of the the lower/mid table songs in both semi-finals who will then battle it out for the remaining final places.
The stage here in Macedonia ties on with the Forever. visual theme.
So the rules are the same as usual,so semi-final voting is done anonymously (but will be published after the all the shows and results) and the qualifiers will be revealed in a random order. The finalists' countries, and the world jury, will have their points read out by a spokesperson, but the other votes will be combined together to make up the non-qualifiers vote (NQ Vote).
Rules for Participation:
1.
The singer/band MUST come your respective nation, but with a band, a single member can be enough, and some affiliation via parents or grandparents.
2.
The songs can be in any language, doesn't have to be in English.
3.
The songs MUST be under 10 minutes long.
4.
Voting will be done privately via PM to me (EwanWilson), using the usual Eurovision system (1-7 + 8,10 & 12) within the voting period.
5.
The following countries can enter on their own as I have declared them autonomous enough England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland etc. (PM me if you have a proposal for a new country)
6.
There is NO rules regarding age, therefore any age can participate in the DSC.
7.
Winning songs of the actual Eurovision can NOT enter (F.E Jamala - 1944), but all other Eurovision related entries are welcome (F.E Sergey Lazarev - You are the only one or Margaret - Cool Me Down).
Skopje is really a hidden gem, tucked away in the Balkans.
