These damn time gaps.. would it be great if the game simply counted by the groups? (E1, E2) Its so horrible, not only Boom didn't got time, but also Martin and the others lead was shorter. Pretty bad.
Anyway, still great 2nd with Martin, hopefully he can get the leader jersey on stage 3.

Thanks.
Just changed the time gaps but too late for stage 1. ;(
Stage 3 which is quite a lot uphill in the end was also set to 20, so changed it to 7.
But in general most annoying time gpas should be repaired by now as I changed quite a lot so far.
We will see later if it worked out, haven`t played it yet. |

For some reason the 2nd stage wasn`t played. The game just went on to the next day without any simulated result. Pity for Farrar, that he misses one important day in his preparation. So I have to go on with stage 3.
Giro della Provincia di Reggio Calabria - Stage 3
Piana - Chiaravalle
The stage isn`t as hard as the first but therefore there is no downhill part in the final. With ~13km and 2,5% in average the last climb will create some gaps as many riders will already be tired after the middle hills.
Hopefully we can gain time with Martin today but Bakelants already rode the Tour Down Under and has a much better form.
4 riders with a first successful attack. One of them is Michel Kreder from Garmin. As he is already a few minutes back we want to give him a chance as Martin has a lot of good helpers behind.
The others are Bertagnolli (Androni), Berthou (Carmiooro), Canuti (Colnago).
On the first climb many riders joined the group. Paolini (Colnago), Da Dalto (Androni), Beuret (HTC), Voss (NetApp) and Gavazzi (Lampre) are some of them.
All riders have at least +4'28 and aren`t such a big danger.
Lotto is doing the work behind as they have 2 riders in the top 3. With Kreder in the group we won`t help them.
On the hardest part of the first climb even Vanendert has to help. The 3r in the overall is Bakelants best helper and might give up his own ambitions for the overall win of his team. At least he will be sure to get a loyal helper in a later race with the situation upside down.
With 13km to go Bakelants attacks. Now we have to react if we want to have a chance.
After a short time Martin joins Bakelants and together they are chasing the group around Kreder, who is still doing well.
Boom behind these two is trying to follow.
Bakelants attacks again and wants to get rid of Martin. Martin keeps his constant speed and tries to close the gap.
2.5km to the finish Martin and Bakelants caught the breakaway. As the final 2 km aren`t that steep it will be hard to gain time, but who will take the stage.
Who else but Bakelants. The Belgium with his 2nd season win and probably also the overall here. Da Dalto and Paolini following next. Martin on th 5th was in the same group as the whole breakaway.
Boom was still riding solo but was quite exhausted and lost his advance on the final kilometer and couldn`t gain time on the peloton.

Good job with Martin! And incredible strong ride by Bakelants! Many attacks and still enough power for the win. This makes Martin staying at his wheel even better Congrats.

As Martin is just using this race as preparation, a 2nd is really good. Hope he can do great in the Tour of Oman with the climb on the Green Mountain. (Actually the climb ingame is almost twice as long than in real, where the finish is on the half. Good for Martin |

Thanks. Bakelants was indeed in a good form. (mo70, hi75) wouldn`t be that competive in a top field.
Giro della Provincia di Reggio Calabria - Stage 4
Chiaravalle - Reggio Calabria
The last stage is totally flat and so it`s the first chance for Farrar in 2012. Of course his form isn`t good but, who knows about the others?
There shouldn`t be any changes in the overall as the stage is just too easy.
A lot of riders with an attack. All of them are more than 4min back.
Elmiger (Adria), D.Lloyd (Saxobank), Corioni (Rosa) and Aramendia (Amore) are still the best there.
As Farrar wants a first test Kreder and Felline are doing the pace to bring them back.
With 9km they are caught. Hopefully there are no crashes now as the weather isn`t as good as on the last few days.
Many sprint trains all over the road. Boom and Millar brought Farrar to the front and now he has to do on his own.
But Modolo takes the stage. The Italian was by far the fastest.
Weylandt won the sprint for the 2nd ahead of Farrar and Belletti. Top favourite Greipel, who had a perfect position to sprint just finished 13th.
Still a good start for Farrar with a podium in his first sprint finish.
Also a great result by Martin and Boom in the overall. Looking forward to the upcoming races. Next will be Mallorca, Mediteraneen and Oman.

Thanks a lot. Hope the good results will continue.
The Mallorca Challenge was first held in 1992 and actually it`s 5 stand alone Criteriums. So the teams can take part with more than 8 riders and change between the Trofeo`s.
I will play it as 5 day stage race. First two stages are pretty flat while the last three will decide the overall.
Result in 2011
1 | Jesus Hernandez | Astana | 2 | Luis León Sánchez Gil | Garmin - Cervelo | 3 | Juan Jose Oroz | Palmeireas Resort | 4 | Alberto Contador | Astana | 5 | Michele Scarponi | Lampre - ISD | 6 | Tony Martin | Team HTC - Highroad | 7 | Dario Cataldo | Quickstep - Innergetic | 8 | Maxim Iglinsky | Astana | 9 | Heinrich Haussler | Saxobank - Sungard | 10 | Peter Sagan | Liquigas - Cannondale |
Hernandez won stage 3 in a breakaway together with Oroz. Sanchez, who was the strongest in general won the last 2 stages but couldn`t gain enough time to overtake both of them.
Garmin squad in 2012
Sanchez will lead our team again. Also Rojas is our man for the first two stages. With Kessiakoff Sanchez gets an excellent helper, but also Maaskant, Millar and Peterson might do well on the hills.
Our goal is the overall win here although it will be hard with a very strong starting field.

Especially Leopard and Astana participate with all their big names. It could be the first fight between the Schleck brothers. It`s also the debut of the Tabriz Cycling Team and the small Portuguese team Barbot - Siper, which started in 2012.
Favourites
***** A.Schleck
**** Contador, F.Schleck
*** LL Sanchez, Vaugrenard, Gesink
** Taaramae, Velits, Cobo Acebo, Porte
* Vinokourov, Gerdemann, Kessiakoff, T.Martin, Rodriguez
It could be a great battle between Astana and Leopard. Both teams have 4 possible winners at the start and can easily control the peloton. We hope to be the lucky third and take advantage of their battle.
Next to all these favourites there are many more great riders like Wiggins, Martens, Ten Dam, Spilak, Sastre, Efimkin... Could actually be a startlist for a Grand Tours.

Very nice results, even on extreme! This could be a great stage race! For Bakelandts it was a nice result, didn't see him ride that harder then Martin in the hills but still a great job! Also nice of Kreder

Thanks all.
It was similar last year that January/February was way easier than April-July as my riders prepare better than the A.I. unfortunately. But I hope that I can play a good role in the PT races of course and I also expect it with my team.
Challenge Ciclista a Mallorca - Stage 1
Palma - Palma
The Trofeo Palma is a inner city circuit in Palma. The riders have to ride 9 full laps before sprinting for the win. Last year Rojas started his season with a 2nd and hopefully he can do a similar result this year in his first race.
Many riders with an attack. Duarte (Cafe), Arvesen (Sky), Gerdemann (Leopard), Zubeldia (Geox) are the most famous. With B.Pires (Barbot) and Chaffare (Tabriz) the new teams are also in this group.
Several teams worked hard to care for a sprint finish. With 8km all riders were caught again and the sprint starts soon.
Rojas choosed Duque`s wheel as he seems to have a good form.
Andre Greipel takes the win. It`s his first in the season same as last year where he also won the Trofeo Palma. The two Spaniards Ventoso and Fernandez were the only one a bit challenging. Rojas on 4 had already a small gap to them.
