Since I have a busy day on Sunday, I really want to do the report tomorrow. But I'll have to wait for some more previewing posts from some riders. So not sure yet when the report will be there.
I'm already working on the races, though! |

Well what do you make of Matt Mazzarelli's chances then?
Yeah if he resists the temptation he could really be a dark horse for gold. He's playing himself down but so is everyone.

Yeah... really downplaying his chances.
Also, what the hell does Matt mean with MTB?! This is Cyclo-Cross with CX bikes, not Mountainbike.
Really loving the coverage so far. Hope there'll be some more posts (smowz, SN) before the race hint hint

Lachy thought it was sarcasm.
And yeah, hopefully SN either posts here or opens MG transfers. And it wouldn't be right without a Cookie Monster blog.
EDIT: Please please please even just the women and/or U-23 race! I'm begging you please Ian! Don't do this to me! IIIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNN!

Fixed that small mistake, I obviously know what kind of bikes the cyclocross riders use... (or i don't?)

There is a small (understandable) mistake in the stats for Sylvain, he came third in the Christmas Classic.

Some awesome posts today, lovely. The game is truly alive now
Obviously I still hope for a Cook's post before the WC, and also one from SportingNonsense, who is still playing this I hope.
Anyway, some interesting posts in the game thread, forcing me to change the result I had already ready.
- trekbmc: Sorry, I'll change that tomorrow
- jandal7: What do you mean with that edit? I'm not with you there |

Wait, you better have not of just taken the result away from Sylvain. But, you know, if another rider had it, then I'm fine.

And to tie everything together, Sylvain has found glass on the course. Lovely.

Of course, yes! The outgoing World Champion should have his say in this
So I'll probably postpone the race to Sunday or even Monday. Don't want to rush this race, any race but this

Really you should give it to Power for the farce that was the American Continentals

Great posts from both SN and Smowz Was really waiting for both of them, now I only miss a decent Cornelis' post and we're almost ready to go
Would be nice if other favourites like Carlisle or Verboven had their say but it doesn't look so

Wow. Must say I'm very impressed with the posts surrounding the World Championships. Thanks guys, it's great to read all of them. Jandal7, too, with your extra preview and rider per rider.
Glad to see Edlfjallsson make his media re-entry right before the big day, too!
And, of course, Cook's posts cracked me up entirely
Some surprising statements, though, in between these posts. So I have to completely re-think the race now Hope to do it this evening, still, though!
Though for some reason I really have difficulties "running" the race this time, a problem I don't usually have
By the way, I am now open for bribes.

It's been a few weeks now, and still the UCI have shamefully failed to act on the appalling incident in Torku where Gregory Bernard pulled down Schiltz' handlebars causing him to crash, in an absolutely disgraceful move.
Let's not forget the Portland World Cup where Kimi Hakkinen deliberately rode in to Timi Kokkonen and was immediately disqualified. That had only caused Kokkonen to dismount, with Schiltz hit the deck as a result of the incident, which is of course a lot more serious.
Kimi Hakinnen would like to press charges against Christian Schiltz for this slander. An official complaint has been sent to UCI headquarters.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

And great to see Schiltz and Verboven added to the list
Verboven's statement of selfless racing in the Worlds does change a lot for the Belgium team. With helpers in Verboven, Welling and Van Fleming, Vague and Cornelis seem to have a very strong backing team here! |

It's not slander if it's true

Actually, it is if you can't prove it's true

Yeah, sorry for that delay. Had some more important things on my mind (exams). Anyway, it at least gave me the chance to involve the other riders in my post

Don't worry, hope the exams went well for you
To keep you all updated:
The race is finished (took a lot of work this time, really lap per lap analyses of the tactics and stats + random factor of bad luck or good luck etc...)
U23 and Elite Women summaries have been written down for the report. I couldn't make them longer but I think a short summary suffices.
So now I'll eat a bit and then sit down to write the report. Usually a report takes me about an hour to write. So I guess, expect the report in 2 hours of less? But I don't promise anything Don't want to rush this report! |
