No idea how Movistar fucks it up on such a constant basis. they need to evaluat themselves critically

Movistar need to send Unzue away. Mas definitely a future GT winner here, let’s see if he can live up to this hype. |

Heir to Contador Velasco, this young Mas fellow. Boy what a dream.
Yates is just a beast, deserved gt win especially after Giro meltdown. Happy he wrapped it up.
Movifail was disastrous.

Really happy that Yates got his redemption here. Best GT rider this year, imo, and deserved after what happened. Not afraid to attack ar any moment. Pleased to see Pinot and Kelderman in the top-10 after difficult season too. And to say Carapaz being Movistar’s best placed rider in 2018 GTs says a lot. |

Amazing win for Mas, who gets his first GT podium at 23 The new Spanish climbing goat for years to come i hope.
I wonder how Quick Step will handle his situation, because it's pretty obvious that next year he'll need a team focused around him for the GT he leads. Maybe Jungels in super-domestique role? But not much mountain power there apart of Jungels.
Well deserved win for Yates though. We don't see this quite often, that the GC leader attacks that much in the final mountain stage, putting his jersey in risk, but making big gains out of it. You can say whatever you want about of him, his positive from a couple years back, but at least he made for exciting racing in both Giro and Vuelta, always attacking with the leader jersey.
And really aggresive stuff by MAL, who got his second GT podium of the season, really great achievement. It's not something usual to see someone so young make two GT podium in one year. Probably not yet at the level to win a GT, but if he keeps riding with this aggresion, he'll get big things in the near future

yup won't be easy for landa to be the top dog at astana either now that mal is a proven and loyal gt contender on top level. I think his constant switcheroos and changes waste landa's talent

First time it's happened since the mid 60s when France won 5 in a row.
Also first time in history 3 different riders from the same country have won the 3 GTs in the same year.
Assuming nothing happens tomorrow

Weren't the Landa back to Astana rumors quelled a while ago? I remember reading an article that he was certainly staying with Movistar. ON PCS he's listed on their 2019 squad.
I always figured Quintana and Valverde were going to falter in the final week after having the full Tour in their legs already. Terribly mismanaged form for both of them this season. Their planning was just atrocious. When peaking they both looked great, but they somehow planned so poorly it's all for naught.
I don't like Yates mostly because of my opinion of asthma and TUE's, but he's an exciting rider. He animates the race in unique ways, he's aggressive, and I'd take a race like this over a Froome type win any day.
5 GT's in a row for the Brits is insane. Never could have imagined that 8 years ago, for better or for worse. The last few GT's have been weird to me as I haven't really been rooting for any main contenders. At least American wise it doesn't look like that's changing.
Indeed, Mas's win is a changing of the guard. Without the Tour I think Valverde would have held on better but that's besides the point. Mas looks like a stud. Very interested to see what the GT field looks like a couple of years down the road.

Is there any reason Adam Yates rides with a different jersey than the rest of the team? |
